Yep, all of those plus Something I learnt today and Hardly getting over it.
Might be time to put on Metal Machine Music.. or Lulu if you really want them cleared off.
‘We all speak in Billie language now’… What is he? A thirteen year old trying out for mean girls?
This fucking guy... If you're so unprepared for this that you have to find bullshit excuses to pull out of the show, just withdraw so your fans know you're not going to be there and give the organisers time to replace you. Incredible how this guy is prepared to burn his legacy and any goodwill towards him.
Her voice is just extraordinary - don’t know the original but this is beautiful.
As a Superchunk zealot, Mac can always rely on me to buy their records. Excited for this!
I think it’s about consequences rather than censorship but are you honestly surprised that fans of alternative music (that has been for decades been largely left wing whether its punk, rock or whatever) would take exception to a guy who regularly uses racial slurs and provides an anti-science platform which potentially harms the community? Anyone can justify listening to this shit all they want but don’t get fragile when people call it out.
Gretchen, stop trying to make 'fetch' happen, it's NOT going to happen!
It’s only ever about money with these pricks.
I think the funny story here is Spotify have lost $2bn in value since this all started. It’s obvious from their actions they care about money more than art so suck shit. https://www.nme.com/news/music/spotify-loses-more-than-2billion-in-market-value-following-joe-rogan-controversy-3149868
The misinformation is easy to find (as is the bullshit Rogan and renowned fucktard Jordan Peterson said about climate change). As someone pointed out on twitter, Neil Young suffered from polio as a child (pre vaccine) and had to learn to walk and function again. I can totally understand why his low tolerance of this rubbish. per Rolling Stone: As an infectious disease epidemiologist and research fellow at Boston’s Children’s Hospital who debunks health misinformation on Instagram —where she has more than 380,000 followers — Jessica Malaty Rivera regularly receives tips from her followers about viral content to debunk. A few weeks ago, her followers started sending her a link to an episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, the most popular podcast in the world. The episode was an interview with Dr. Robert Malone, a virologist who touts himself as one of the architects of mRNA technology. Rivera was familiar with Rogan, as well as Malone. She knew that Malone had been banned from Twitter for promoting Covid-19 misinformation, and that he had been making the rounds in conservative media circles undermining the efficacy of the vaccine. When she watched the interview, she was horrified to see that he espoused various conspiratorial and baseless beliefs, from the idea that “mass formation psychosis” is responsible for people believing in the efficacy of vaccines; to the claim popular among anti-vaxxers that hospitals are financially incentivized to falsely diagnose Covid-19 deaths. The episode featuring Malone went viral, and was shared widely in right-wing media circles as well as on Facebook, where the link on Spotify has been shared nearly 25,000 times, according to CrowdTangle data. Yet Rivera was even more horrified to discover that people in her life, whom she considered to be “quite wise and discerning,” were hoodwinked by Malone’s patina of academic credibility, considering his views on the vaccine legitimate. “When I saw they were falling victim to this, I spoke to some colleagues and we said something has to be done at this point,” she says. https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-news/covid-misinformation-joe-rogan-spotify-petition-1282240/
It really is - hitting up those 3rd tier glam bands gives it a familiar but unique soundtrack. I'm into it.
Maybe all the Rogan bros who want to debate science might want to jump off a fucking building and see if gravity is still thing?
I like that one Jimmy Eat World song - not the middle, the sugar on the asphalt one. That's a great song. That's all I've got.
I’m sure Ozzy has no idea what this is no matter how many times Sharon explains it. Given how out of it he seems sometimes, in any other situation it’d probably qualify as exploitation and elder abuse.
Super bummed covid fucks everything - I’d fly to the states to see a Jawbox and Jawbreaker show. Anyhow, I was just thinking about some stage banter from when I saw Jawbreaker on the Dear You tour. Blake: Shit, this guitar is out of tune. Fuck it, we’re punk, we don’t need to play in tune. (plays the opening riff of the next song which sounds terrible and stops immediately) Blake: ok, we’re not that punk. (Tunes guitar).
Totally with you on this. Authentic celestial music off Ocean Songs is my go to for this genre…
Totally with you on Flume and I live in Australia where he’s from (and huge). Every time a Flume song comes on I have to be reminded who it is. Second on the list, fuck off…
