I may not have commented all that much, but I faithfully read videogum while having my morning coffee, every damned day. This is me this morning: http://replygif.net/i/1317.gif I love you all. RIP Videogum (and Gabe of course)
Fast forward a few years and BAM Laura Linney is taking care of yet another mentally challenged brother. Times they are a'changing my foot!
Okay. Here goes... marry me Simon Spidermonk aka Mr Tumnus aka the wordsmith of my heart. Some background info about me, I'm female and Indian but SPOILER ALERT! I do not look remotely like either Padma Laksmi or Hannah Simone.
Oh Mr. Tumnus, I think I'll miss you the most.
I feel your pain. What is a poor (literally), young, relatively inexperienced editor to do with a star author who — goes on 2 1/2 month holiday and is incommunicado; cannot open word documents; sends in handwritten manuscripts; hires a typesetter who sends the soft copies 1 1/2 months late; comes back and then goes off for ANOTHER 2 week holiday — all this while the aforementioned editor has to fend off increasingly agitated queries, from her immediate superior, Acquisitions Editor, Publishing Manager, Prepress, Production, Sales, Marketing, distributors, the Ministry of Education, irate parents and teachers and friends and family member who also all happen to be happen mostly irate teachers. Did I mention that I work in the highly glamourous and well-paying (NOT) world of educational publishing?
I know, it totally knocked me for six. I'm still reeling from the news. Oh well... at least I still have PotterCon to look forward to!
Where can I get one???
I read the Lena Dunham piece and I kinda liked it. I've always felt neutral about Dunham herself but honestly this has made me like her a smidge more. Where would any of us be without connections? I mean even my current job I got through family connections (we're not rich or influential or anything like that, both my parents are teachers). I wouldn't have gotten my foot in the door without those connections but it was me who secured the job. I may not be the best damn editor in the world but I'm here and I'm making the most of it. Likewise Dunham is definitely not the greatest female comedic mind of my generation, but she is somewhat talented and she is making things happen so haters can go fuck themselves. I'd much rather have Girls on television (as insufferable as it is at times), than more shows like Duck Dynasty or Two and a Half Men. Also, after watching Frances Ha, I can't keep thinking Greta Gerwig would be a fantastic edition to the show.
Somewhere between Katherine Heigl and Anne Hathaway?
I have only but one upvote , however both my ovaries went "awwww"!
OMFG, how how does Daniel Day Lewis look?
Late to the party as usual, but I brought brownies! OMG Tina Fey looks so hot in the monologue. And Amy's breasts look... just great.
I feel her eyebrows could be thicker and less arched. I'm ALL about the brows.
OMG, Psych was so funny! How hilarious was the intro? It's easily one of my favourite shows, it's funny, charming and always cheers me up to no end. Kelly, you need to start watching it, it's definitely better than Brooklyn Nine Nine.
Guys the best way to drink cononut water is this way: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-l9Ud29qLJ4E/T2trWzXa2wI/AAAAAAAABes/6jL82yS_m6U/s640/Coconut%2BWater.jpg on a sweltering day. You drink up all the delicious juice(?) and scrape off the yummy flesh with a spoon. It's all over (most of) Asia and super cheap, though one time I did get pretty wicked food poisoning from in Thailand. They must have reused the shell ;) Now I always make sure they open up the coconut in front of me.
I used it as eye makeup remover. Works like a charm for my super-sensitive eyes and flakey eye area. I'm a bit worried on using all over my face though. I am acne-prone and it's supposed to cause BAD breakouts.
But why? I love puns! But I think you're right.
