I've watched this video at least once a day since it premiered on pitchfork last week. gaga/yeasayer/girls/why? : the video ain't dead y'all
also, note how "Esau" was pissed that people were coming to the island to 'corrupt' it. He's protective, the smoke monster is a security system, etc etc maybe common sense, but hadn't really seen it noted here. It makes sense (well LOST sense) that he was Locke, Christian, and Yemi- all their bodies were on the island, but "Esau" was also Kate's horse? still bugging me: where is Walt going to come into all of this? What is Claire doing while "Esau"/Smokey is off doing other shit and not being Christian Shepherd? and yeah, poor Locke, man. he really got the shit end of the stick- moreso than anyone else I can think of on the show. Maybe Naomi for dying a trillion times? Nah, Locke got thrown out a window by his dad, paralyzed, dumped, found a purpose, got shot, lost his purpose, found his purpose again, got off the island and lost his purpose. God damn. Still, that last shot of "his" face in that fire. Some of the most affecting/chilling shit this show has been able to get at me with. Can Charlie and Eko come back yet? Please? Pretty please?
Locke Ness (Smoke) Monster
Catholicked seemed kind of indistinguishable to me, but I really dug those other two.
Yeah, I was pretty washed out on LOST, but this episode completely revitalized my faith in this season/series.
This, for me, is like the indie rock version of The Rock vs Stone Cold.
Yeah, I really enjoyed this as well. Take On Me is one of my favorite songs. This has inspired me to check out AC's new album.
I think Colin was back there, but I don't think there'd really be a purpose in Phil Selway playing. also, they had trombones do the coolest part of Colin's playing in 15 Step anyway. that was a really really exciting performance- Thom looked nuts, I loved it.
my family could not stop talking shit about M.I.A. I thought it was awesome. I noticed Os Mutantes in that commercial and freaked out. that's nuts. so excited for Radiohead.
Yeah, I would have loved to see KoL win. ah well
Man, Carrie has a great voice.
cocaine joke, guys? f'real? I really enjoy that new U2 track. also, that Justin/Al performance was really entertaining and well done. besides the flailing jokes from presenters, this looks like it might be a fun show.
I'm getting self-conscious about women artists seemingly almost always being compared to other female artists. Like, if Glass were a new Final Fantasy track, do you think people would be automatically saying Kate Bush/Bjork/My Brightest Diamond? I mean, obviously, I just did it but it just seems noteworthy to me at this point.
Yeah, I'm hearing a lot of Kate Bush. this song is excellent. this has me really excited for the new album.
I don't understand the Will I Am hate. What has he done that's so bad. He just likes making feelgood music. Even outside of BEP, if you take a look at his producer credits, he's done a lot of great shit. Compton, off The Game's second album. American Boy. Hip-Hop is Dead. Common's I Want You. nah, I have no qualms with Will.I.Am. Is he Dylan? No, damn it. Dylan is Dylan. But Fergalicious is still a damn jam.
I'm enjoying spending time with this album. Telepathe are really interesting.
Jesus Scats All Balls Down Drunk and Hot Girls (pretty hard one there. lol, I said pretty hard) Homecumming 13inch Brother Flashing Dykes (I do not like using that word, but any Kanye fan knows that is probably pretty realistic, because he fucking loves it) oh, who am I kidding? Love Cockdown is an automatic win.
