Like many of the previous commenters I totally loved this movie when it first came out. I was on the cusp of graduation from university and the scene about his childhood home not being his home hit home because my childhood home was no longer my home because of how my parents divorced, etc. etc.
But a movie that is perceived as great for such a specific period in one's life cannot be a great movie. Especially when it's about a period where I was so insanely selfish and fake existential and how will I change the world.
The only lasting effects, also like everyone else said, was on the music I listened to. And as someone who grew up listening almost exclusively to Christian rock and classical music (I was so awesome!), it could only be seen as a good thing.
Anywho, great review.
I like this guy, and I like his style. If I ever have a litter of ugly kittens to abandon in the cold of night, I'll think of him and this crazy commercial...
I go to the "dentist" as well. Where he "drills" holes in my teeth and I "pay" him "money".
If Sarah Lester IS my girlfriend, and I have no evidence to the contrary, perhaps we should see a "psychologist" for some "relationship counselling". Because... well, I think it's clear.
The greatest trick Kirk Cameron ever pulled was convincing the world he wasn't crazy.
I mean, of the tricks he's pulled it's his greatest, not saying it was that successful overall.
For whatever reason, youtubes don't work on this computer so all I saw were blurry shots of spikey blonde hair making sweet love to various sandwiches (the audio, however, was crystal clear and if those aren't the sounds of sweet love making, then I don't know what is).
Well here's what I think...
I agree that'd it'd be nice to have more topical discussions, because I have found the people here to be very thoughtful and I am interested in their opinions.
ALSO. There isn't must to say about a lot of things and so witty call backs, gif parties, and senseless word games that are actually harder than they look, all have a place.
And you know what? It's really nice to have people tell people they enjoy spending etime with one another. I think it's super neat that a lot of us like to come together each day just to talk because they enjoy each other's company.
Anyway. As you were.
I've since thought about this and agree. It really didn't go anywhere this season and I vaguely remember not loving it. Hung is off the list.
I've also not been impressed with Big Love and Weeds. Shows I used to really like but have since gone way crazy.
I can understand when something disturbing gets leaked to youtube or wherever and people make a conscious choice to look for it and click play - but repeating disturbing clips on morning news shows? It's just wrong.
Scratch that. I don't get any of it. Exploiting the devastation of other people is really crappy.
I don't get why he's so defensive. I mean, can't he just accept that other people have alternative opinions instead of making vast generalizations based on negative stereotypes about people who are different than him?
It's super easy.
