My main concern is that with vgum's high quality content and recent NYT articles, that Gabe will be snatched up by the military industrial complex and all that has been built up here will be for nought. It would be reassuring to know that there are some interns or "apprentices" learning the ropes that will one day be able to take over the shop. (Call me paranoid.)
I'm surprised no one has mentioned one of the best lines: "The study was conducted by the University of my Eyeballs." (In reference to a study that says college football linemen are obese).
We used to use the term Hope Floats as a verb...
To Hope Float someone is to tell them that a bad movie is surprisingly good and that they must watch it, thereby revoking any recommendation rights in your circle of friends.
We have put a freeze on "hope floating" ever since Gabe banned pranks, subject to review.
I saw a preview with Wes and Jason (yes they are my new best friend) moderated by Jim Jarmusch, and in true Wes Anderson-style the majority of the audience questions were asked by the most precocious New York boys aged 10-12.
FYI, they have the sets and puppets for this movie in the display windows of Bergdorf Goodman on fifth ave. hilariously perfect commercial tie in... you'll know when you see.
I know it's a bit of the elephant in the room (due to videogum ad revenue) but when are going to get around to discuss "(500) days of Summer"? I seem to be the only one I know who was not into that movie.
