I love tune yards, but I don't know if I love this. On one hand you have completely abstract (Tune Yards) and on the other you have completely linear (The Roots). It just wasn't a marriage to me.
By the way guys...all great songs, but you seem to have forgotten who controls what is a hit and what isn't. M effing TV!! We represent the select few who seeks out good music and has great taste. One day guys the tables will turn, but until that day the only props our favorite bands are gonna get are in car commercials, movies or Apple advertisements. But what do i know?

Its hard to say "ignore it and it'll go away" in these situations. Good for you T&S...this letter was very well written and really drives home the point. This is how ignorance slips through the cracks. What's really sad is Tyler is riding the indie hip hop wave, which is generally a pretty open minded crew of artist. He will fade, but I agree you can't be silent in the face of ignorance, even if saying anything only adds fuel to his ego. Kind if like what Eminem did. As individuals/promoters/venue owners/concert promoters/dj's/fellow musicians, we can voice our opinion and squash this sort of propaganda. Don't get me wrong...I get what Tyler is doing, but it's still trite because it's been done before. I don't believe for a second he's the guy he tries to portray on his albums and videos. Thanks T&S
Well this is the first live performance I've seen on SNL in a awhile and I said the same thing immediately. Normally SNL performances suck (sound wise). I won't credit NBC production for that (at least not yet), but I will probably give shout outs to The Strokes people for this.
I hope those miners put that sort of representation to good use. Theirs a lot of artist out their who would love to be in their situation. Not to have been stuck in a mine, but represented by WMA.

I agree, but this is coming from a girl who also featured on a song with Eminem who on "love the way you lie" talks about beating down a girl, not only once, but through the whole song. She's a mindless machine that makes money for a building full of suits that are praying to the corporate God's that she never comes to her senses. Very sad and no one cares. All you can do and I know this will sound pretentious is pray for not only them. but the world.
