1) tentatively scheduled for next September 2) as yet untitled 3) Beck says “I haven’t quite finished it. But I’d say it’s finding its legs" and that “it’s still in flux." 4) "I do want to put out something that is a lot more up, and energetic, and melodic.“ "“Some are experimental and abrasive." 5) It's “not of a piece” with Morning Phase. “It’ll be quite different to this record." 6) Beck says, "I’m thinking more about the live show, which is more about energy. It’s a lot more up.“ All of this suggests he might want to make an album he can support with another high energy tour like those from the late '90s.
In addition to “Blue Moon” being available on iTunes and Spotify today, rare live versions of four other songs on "Morning Phase" - along with details on both of his 2014 albums -are here http://thefutureheart.com/2014/01/20/beck-morning-phase-preview/

Hey, this was taken from this post (http://thefutureheart.com/2013/11/13/beck-interview/) which I wrote largely through translating an interview posted two days ago from Argentina (today the original interviewer confirmed my translation). A lot of sites (ie Stereogum) saw my post and reposted bits, focusing on the Spotify comments. Beck clearly has it on his mind however in the context of the full interview Spotify was discussed only as part of a larger conversation on change, and how it's inevitable. He wasn't coming out and "hating" on Spotify in the sense that Thom Yorke did. In other words, don't expect any twitter tirades about Spotify from Beck anytime soon. That's an impression created more by all the articles that popped up today than by Beck's actual comments. Also, Beck is headlining Buenos Aires’ Planeta Terra Festival live tonight and you can watch online https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=634996336550910
Some other info on the EP is here http://thefutureheart.com/2013/10/20/peacse-and-paronia-ep/

Out November 29, The "Peace Sword" EP is the second of two EPs the Lips are releasing in the next two months (the first a split with Tame Impala). Songs include “If They Move, Shoot Em,” "Think Like a Machine, Not a Boy," "Wolf Children" and "Assassin Beetle/The Dream Is Ending." Other artists have collaborated with the Lips for this project (so far New Fumes - aka former Polyphonic Spree guitarist Daniel Huffman) has confirmed he's on it). Coyne has described the music as "more live playing, but not meant to sound live…?? it’s weird..." See more of the artwork and read a full preview of this (and all other confirmed forthcoming Flaming Lips releases - and there are quite a few) at http://thefutureheart.com/2013/09/27/lips-fall-preview/
Flaming Lips cover "Elephant" and "Runway, Houses, City, Clouds" for their two songs on a four song split vinyl EP available at concerts starting around October 29th. The Lips and Tame Impala are planning something special for their tour together this fall (which includes a "Halloween Blood Bath" in San Francisco) https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=594501987267012
Beck only played one date of the AmericanaramA tour. Not a "few" as posted here. When Wilco and Beck played "Loser" there were phones lit up everywhere. Though apparently those people were just texting or instagramming because as this article notes, there's not much on youtube. Fortunately, Beck headlined the Newport Folk Festival the day after playing with Wilco with a similar set, and the entire thing is streaming via NPR. Find the link for that as well as photos, a detailed review of all three Beck concerts from last weekend - including this show with Wilco - and more at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.580985265285351.1073741877.238542309529650
Wayne also played pictionary with Demi Lovato. Watch: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=546733218710556

The entire album is streaming on NPR. Here's the list of this week's free, official album streams https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=531931913524020&set=a.238587699525111.70645.238542309529650&type=1
It's definitely being recorded, and has been for three plus weeks. Love the idea or hate it, updates on the project will be continually posted at http://www.facebook.com/TheFutureHeart if you're interested.... If you never heard of New Fumes (who by the way was Annie Clark's replacement in Poly Spree when she left to tour with Sufjan and start St Vincent), HOTT MT or Stardeath and White Dwarfs, check them out. They have some great original music!
