But on the other hand, as he currently presents himself, he's doing a world of good for people who feel unable to place themselves within a strict label system. I know I have friends who have been attracted to both genders but don't feel that calling themselves bi or gay is accurate. It's doing a whole other group of people a world of good having somebody in the public spotlight is willing to say;
1. 'I am attracted to both genders, but one more than the other and neither particularly often'
2. 'My sexuality is complicated and i don't owe anyone a full explanation of it'.
I personally think that is far more helpful for sexually confused people than having him give some rambling, contradictory, convoluted explanation of himself.
I'd personally go with
1. Hounds of Love, 2. The Dreaming, 3. The Sensual World, 4. Aerial, 5. The Kick Inside, 6. Never For Ever, 7. 50 Words For Snow, 8. Lionheart, 9. Red Shoes
People don't talk enough about how fucking AMAZING this album is in every aspect. I find it really difficult to put into words how good Guyville is, and how much it means to me personally.
'Shatter' is one of my top 5 favourite songs of all time.
The fact that there are 6 X's on the front and 6 numbers on the record is probably no coincidence
------/------/------/936557/------/------
It's only going to be solvable once we have a sequence of 36 numbers
Hopefully it'll be leading to a new BoC album though; if the countdown thing mentioned on Consequence of Sound is right then we've only got 259 days to wait!
By its very nature a song like this should NOT make me happy.
But it's just been so long since I was freaked out by a new Knife song, I just can't help myself.
Another mention. The weight of my sterogum comment section fame has become too great, I'm going into seclusion. I'll start working on my next comment in five years and you can all see it in seven.
Not bragging or anything, but I was mentioned 3 times on this list. Fiona Apple was only mentioned twice. I consider this my greatest achievement of 2012.
After that track 'Glitch' a few weeks ago I'm looking forward to the History of Apple Pie debute - probably a long shot what with the dismal hit rate of that kind of uk indie *insert genre here*-revival type band, but potentially could be a. decent record
Hopefully Mazzy Star, Joanna Newsom, Portishead and a few others will show their faces.
REALLY fucking stoked for the new MBV - either going to make my life or be the disappointment of the millenium. Either way, we should all start preparing ourselves for the inevitable shitstorm.
Not that I ever cared about NME's opinion, but not having Fiona Apple anywhere on the list just voids it even more.
They really seem to have it out for her this year though, anyone else remember when they published a picture of Alanis Morissette next to an article about her?
I do think there would be a similar white male breakdown, but as we learned in the comment sections of the Thomas Gabel transitioning to Laura Jane Grace articles, there's an awful lot of us gays here. That might kinda even out the accuracy of the “Indie Hottie” (male) category a little. (Although I'm just in crazy-stalker-love with Justin Vernon so I feel like my vote is too biased to be counted, if I'm honest :P)
What we really need to be talking about is that fact that Bilinda Butcher apparently stopped ageing in 1988. Seriously, look at the pictures, it's weird...
I always feel like I'm going to grow out of Tegan and Sara. And then I see something with the phrase 'New Tegan and Sara' in it and I squee all over the place like a fangirl.
