I like at least a few red hot chili peppers songs, so do one google search of research before a post. http://line6.com/guitar-wireless/ Actually, I guess I don't really care about your research. I do like the top ten lists though.
Pompeii has a pretty nice chorus
That's awful
Four albums by the National. I like it!
One of my favorite albums. Really transports me to 2007--4 years after it came out, but the year I played it probably 40 times all the way through.
Wow. I really like Moves, Crash Years, and Up in the Dark...they might be close to my favorites (really into Together)
But also, I think the responses on this thread are getting a little weird. It is kind of anomaly, just historically, that a woman rock star is just a badass guitar player, especially in indie rock where talented guitar players don't often display their skills in memorable solos or chord progressions the way Annie Clark does. I think most people thinks she is awesome for being a unique talent.
Women don't post comments, only sad sad men, me included.
I mean, it's a catchy pop song..with a pedal effect in the chorus that sounds like nothing I've ever heard, a crazy guitar solo, and some pretty thoughtful lyrics.
She is great live. Good list, but Cruel is amazing.
I feel like I spend way too much time reading about indie music, but I still don't really get the first sentence- "Though the current fad is to compartmentalize indie rock of the last decade as something quaint, narrow, and somewhat embarrassing"
Top 5: Modern Vampires of The City, Trouble Will Find Me, Hummingbird, Comedown Machine, Monomania so far. Kurt Vile and Youth Lagoon were a tad disappointing compared to their last ones to me, but both have some great songs as well.
Really happy Woe is Me made the cut. It's such an instantly likeable song that somehow is still under the radar
Passion Pit and Tallest Man on Earth made some good music sounds! But actually for the most part this list is pretty neat, to me.
Revolver. I think it's the most even mix of quality John Paul and George songs. I think my favorite part on the album is the french horn in For No One.
