I actually agree with you. I'm sorry too, I got carried away.
shut up, just shup up because YOU KNOW that's not what I meant. My favourite artist ever is Marvin Gaye. I own all of Stevie Wonder records. They are TRUE artists. But Kendrick Lamar, ASAP Rocky, REALLY? REALLY? HERE? What the hell are they doing for music? I used to love this place, but everything I get in here all I see is Ocean, Lamar, Lamar, Ocean, Ocean, Lamar, dude, it's getting awful. But I knew commenters here would IMMEDIATELY point out that I must have something against black music because oh, those artists I mentioned happen to be black. That's why I made sure to say beforehand, IT'S NOT ANYTHING AGAINST BLACK PEOPLE. JESUS. When I said "it's just that they are not good", I meant those artists, not black music in general, again, you are taking the whole thing out of context. Why is it so hard to understand?
you're taking that out of context you moron
I put emphasis on that because it's the first thing everybody immediately points out, like the guy who commented before you. oh yes, because michael kiwanuka is SO white
it has become somehow "cool" now for stereogum to mix some shit among real music. i saw taylor swift on some of their lists recently, couldn't believe my eyes. what'll happen next? i wouldn't be surprised at all if it suddenly became "cool" for stereogum to support nickelback or lady antebellum or whatever. sell outs!
it's just that i'm SO tired of reading names like kendrick lamar, frank ocean or asap rocky (i mean c'mon) mentioned right next to true artists and bands that released awesome albums this year like beach house, grizzly bear, cloud nothings, dirty projectors, tame impala, spritualized etc . stereogum is mixing apples and oranges. it's like when people mention britney spears or christina aguilera among the greatest pop artists to ever live, it gets on my nerves. it's not anything against BLACK people, it's just that they are not good, they are not bringing anything new to the table. their formulas have been used to death. go listen to michael kiwanuka if you want REAL black music with MEANING. I don't see his name anywhere on those end year lists.
it's frank ocean and I'm on stereogum so I guess I should say it's a masterpiece. oh yes, best song of the year, for sure. did I mention how incredibly mindblowing channel orange is? if not, I should have said it already. because I'm on stereogum and if you don't like it you might as well stop listening to music altogether because you don't know shit. wow frank ocean best artist EVER, don't you think?
Whoa. Absolutely mindblowing.
This is at least a 8/10 album
the only good song there is Lonely Boy
No Talking Heads? I thought this guy lived and breathed Talking Heads.
It's so weird and uncomfortable to think that half of those kids on the crowd don't even know who Gwen Stefani is.
I'm gonna buy a fucking playstation just for this.
That was absolutely mindblowing.
