If this isn't my favorite album of all time, it may easily be in my top three.
The "Head Rolls Off" lyrics pop in my head a lot in our political climate. Every time someone thinks they're bigger and more important than another person on the planet, I wish they'd stop and consider the fact that they'll be dust in no time and they should instead spend their time making tiny changes. It's not morbid at all.
When it's all gone, something carries on
And it's not morbid at all
Just when natures had enough of you
When my blood stops, someone else's will not
When my head rolls off, someone else's will turn
And while I'm alive, I'll make tiny changes to earth
Oddly enough, if you preview the "Astro Lounge" tracks while imagining Car Seat Headrest performing these songs, some of them aren't a stretch. Try "Waste" or "Who's There". I'll be interested to hear how it works the other way around.
In trying to find this on Spotify, I noticed that he originally released the song in 2012. The version above certainly sounds different. And though I didn't compare lyrics, I would imagine there are some differences.

I wasn't familiar with Jeff before I saw his band at Pitchfork this weekend. Needless to say, all of the antics and energy written about above made him one of the most memorable acts of the weekend. I had a smile on my face throughout their whole set.
