I would suggest Nashville, Jealousy, Uncle Alvarez
This song is so good- why are there not more comments?
Don't say stuff about Echo and the Bunnymen unless you go through their entire catalog to justify saying that "Bring on the Dancing Horses" is one of their best. I do like that song, but I think this does a disservice to the band for some unnecessary hyperbole on that track. I beg you to listen to "Ocean Rain". Or "Silver". Or "Killing Moon". Or "Lips Like Sugar" or "Back of Love" or "Do It Clean" but really- "Ocean Rain". OMD "If You Leave" is amazing and I give you that.
He writes tracklist with Sharpies which is great, but think of all the bleed through to the other sheets of paper in the pad. I have to admit that it sort of bothers me. Also the rampant misogyny.
I love the duet ones the best, and this is a duet one, and it is the best- excellent.
yeah, this is really good!
it's not the band I hate, it's their fans...that I love to upvote!
oh i want to hear the 10 minute long version that puts that last little bit into outer space
I want to say that I read the piece again, and I think that OK to think about things- this was a provocative and tough question. "Removed from the context of the Super Bowl, it’s in the eye of the beholder whether “Formation” celebrates or exploits the black woman who takes her dude to Red Lobster, carries hot sauce in her purse, and has her man buy her Jordans."
They got slagged so hard by so many for such dumb reasons. Check out their many old school late night perfs- most of them kill, though when you see them on Jon Stewart's MTV show it is like a nad punch because Jon Stew looks 22 and you know that he is not 22 now.
This take seems sort of hot. They can each do whatever they want- what is the point of judging their "activism"- they are humans and artists that also engage in activism. I don't really get this piece. Also, don't want to defend Bruno Mars in anyway, but he seems to be a consummate professional performer- what was amateurish about his performance? Bey was charged and on fire- why need to be further hyperbolic? Coldplay were bland and professional. Mars was expected and professional. Beyonce was electric due to content of her song and its explicit treatment of race, and professional.
Even though this is really Bono-y, I think what he said was well said, and I appreciate him saying it.
"Wait for Us" was a good track. I almost remember that I probably heard it on Stereogum maybe? It was from their 2012 album.
I agree with many of the other comments. This takes me back to my high school girlfriend. It was a weird situation. It was long distance and she lived in Canada. We drifted apart and I don't think I even have any pictures of us together.
Guys, I am so sad. David Bowie is gone.
I think it is their most boring album. FIGHT
I hate feeling so predictable but Do Ya, Don't Bring Me Down, and Turns to Stone are my fave ELO songs. Justin Timberlake could have killed with a cover of Don't Bring Me Down (maybe they are saving it for the N'SYNC reunion. My daughter's favorite song is the "No No" song (Don't Bring Me Down), but I got her to like Testament to Youth in Verse by New Pornographers, so she also requests THAT "No no no no" song.
