arena-rock thee oh see is spot on
the almost diva-esque/showy syncopation in the first two lines of that verse is killer, lucky enough to see them twice at sxsw and that moment drew loud applause both times
took a while to fall for it, but MVOTC has my heart.
their rep as an incredible live band is completely well-deserved. I saw them twice at SXSW this year and both shows were the most unhinged fun I had the whole week. these guys don't hold back and are just trying to make everyone have the best time possible.
This is shaping up to look like a great album.
i laughed out loud when he was fucking goosestepping on that billboard.
The tour for this album should take the form of parades down every main street in America.
(i mean i know they're probably making music that they want to make, regardless, but it doesn't even seem like they have any fans at all that are excited to receive it)
where are the people that are saying, "yes yes yes FINALLY just what i've been waiting for, pop etc. continues to deliver!!!!11!!" srsly though. i haven't seen anyone say anything good about their output yet, and i'm left wondering why they forge on with this kind of work without any positive reception, not just from a critical standpoint but from the indie audience as well.
the drastic change in tone from the intro to the actual song in T. Swifts vid just didn't work for me. i also wonder how fans of her earlier music feel about this new direction.
knew you could do it, Max.
Hey Alright! A comment I really like covered by a person I really like. I really, really like this!
So East of Eden was her Middle East album and it looks like this will be her Tropical Island album. I really hope she does Antarctica next.
Jewellery blew my high school self away. It definitely made me look at the possibilities of music in a completely different way. If this song is any indication, Micachu will continue shattering my musical perceptions in the best way possible.
Dave: "And then she took my dingus just like this!"
I am very excited for NEVER. Jewellry is probably one of my most listened to albums ever. Micachu we need you.
