The first three records are waayyyyyyyyyy too low.
"He hasn’t released an album in more than 40 years." Actually, he released an album in 2010.
This is easily worth a hundred bux imo
Was the Donovan/Laura Nyro diss necessary? I don't know about Nyro but Donovan was a fantastic songwriter.
Blood Ceremony's "Living With The Ancients" missing from BOTH Stosuy's AND Decibel's? Boo-urns. :(
Not feeling this XX...uh....sample. Is it really a sample when you just straight up and sing over the entire song? Just curious. I want to like it, but I was really hoping for something a bit more creative than vocal pyrotechnics over a song that already existed exactly the way it is now. And it was largely an instrumental in the first place, so no need to even erase any vocal tracks. Just kinda feels lazy to me somehow. More power to her/them for doing it, (no hating here!) just was hoping for more.
Not only is that really nice, those are both great records. Kudos to you.
I hope you're referring to the Nicholas Cage version!
I hate the fact that I don't really care for this album :(
I felt the same way actually. It's good, but it's too rough to feel like a real 'replacement' for what we already have. I've listened to the 2004 version so many times that I miss the things that aren't there on this version (If I'm remembering correctly, a lot of lyrics weren't finished originally and Parks had to write new ones for the 2004 one.)
girl on girl is okay (as long as they're hot), duh
It says the Night Sweats one is private, weird, was looking forward to that
Refused? Who ever said they sounded like Refused? That's just bizarre.
Springsteen's at number 9
10 years? Don't you mean like...half that?
MGMT makes complete sense. The rest of these not so much.
I like the (what sounds like a) drum machine pattern, and uh...that's about it. Oh no wait, I also like the fact that he obviously doesn't care enough to even seem to consider writing an actual chorus.
Sorry to see HTC go, and curious what it'll mean for both P4K and Stereogum that you'll be over there now. I hope P4K allows you the relative freedom it seems you've had on here, because I want to continue seeing yr stuff on a regular basis, both metal-related and all of the darker goth-ier stuff you've written on as well! Good luck man! On the mixtape front, it's definitely awesome to see Inquisition (one of my favorite current metal groups) and Neu! on the same tape. Badass.
