I enjoyed the song and the video. I even thought "Ed Sheeran seems like a nice dude"... God what is happening to me ? Just felt a little uncomfortable when he started rapping.
Morrissey - World peace is none of your business MGMT - MGMT Foxygen - ... And Star Power Of Montreal - False Priest
To me separating the artist from the art in this context is pretty easy : I am listenning to an album, I don't have to hang out with the guy.
...And Star Power is one my favourites of the year. It has like 7 great songs for Me, that's more than St-Vincent, which I really liked, or other favourites this year. I like it better than Ambassadors... I think, but less than Take the kids off Broadway. Haven't made a list yet, but I really liked Weezer, Morrissey, Mac Demarco, Gibbs and Madlib, D'Angelo, Todd Terje, Andy Stott, Julian Casablancas+Voidz, a lot of shit Young Thug released, Ariel Pink, Chromeo, Lykke Li, Lilly Allen, Future, SZA, Avey Tare's Slasher Flicks. (Favourite song: Makonnen, no question)
Cute girl with no pants singing a Smiths song, what's not to like ?
Yes he does play piano, yes he does write melodies, you would know if you listenned. Example of a great song : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sg8TD1EAZbM&hd=1 Sincerely hope you learn something today
yes how DARE he skip a verse of his damn song! :)
Come on, this is clearly a cinephilic movie massively influenced by french cinema, just like The Squid and the Whale. Homage.
And then you dissed Morrissey. I strongly disagree with those articles.
Your article on Miley VS Sinead was pretty weird to Me. In my opinion, Sinead was way out of line slut-shaming Miley and being so patronizing. What She did was pretty offensive and She deserved to be put back in her place. I believe her behaviour here was anti-feminist, not Miley's. Plus, have you seen those vegetables pics? She's cray.
Come on, it's obviously a great song. On of the most impressive and memorable choruses of the year. Stop hatin
1. Daft Punk – Touch 2. Vampire Weekend – Ya Hey 3. Drake – Hold On, We’re Going Home 4. The Strokes – One Way Trigger 5. Jackson Scott – Together Forever 6. Miley Cyrus – We Can’t Stop 7. Kanye West – Bound 2 8. Arcade Fire – Here Comes The Night Time 9. Blood Orange – Time Will Tell 10. Lana Del Rey – Young And Beautiful
I have been thinking about this too. I feel that he would get more respect if he was rarer and just appeared for some good-to-awesome guest verses once in a while. It might be better to keep people wanting more rather than releasing albums with a lot of crappy songs. As a listenner I don't mind though, and I would be sad if I couldn't listen to We Made You, Crack A Bottle, No Love, Rap God, Love Game...
I watched the whole thing and thought it was pretty enjoyable. It started with Arcade Fire performing "Afterlife" with a choreography from Greta Gerwig and a bunch a kids, pretty charming stuff. The performances were good, Eminem killed it, and the live music video thing gave some nice results with M.I.A. and Tyler and Earl. There were some pretty creative moments, OK GO did some live painting on Jason Schwartzman's face... The point was to celebrate the DIY quality of youtube videos, not the pomp of the Grammys and they succeeded at times. The show felt more like some walkabout theater where the audience wanders around and artists perform stuff on different stages. Negative points, it was kind of a mess, there were some embarassing skits, the sound was not good and Maclemore received an award.
Actually I agree with Sufjan here, I think Miley is awesome, She is this year's greatest pop star, She is getting the most attention right now, and #GetItRight is a very catchy song (Thank you Pharrell)
I don't know, but the first minutes look really good. The lighting is pretty, the poses are interesting, some good shots. I would call that art. The rest it pretty distasteful, with the projections of Justin's face over the girls' boobs...
