I think he's saying that it creates a climate more suited for established artists, and makes it harder for new, or up-n-coming acts to turn a profit on their music via record sales. But I might be "reading into it" too much, especially after reading Thome Yorke's quotes in regards to Spotify.
you are entitled to your opinion, as am I, and mine is that m83's new album better kick a lot more ass than his previous works, they have no soul at all. But I will admit that the more recent the album, the more I like it, so maybe his newest one might be half as good as Psychic chasms if he keeps improving.
