I'm not really feeling this song and hope that it's the stylistic outlier from the new material. Love Interruption doesn't bash you over the head with its greatness, but after listening to it a few times I really enjoyed it.
I think Broken Boy Soldiers was recorded in Brendan's attic, but I'm not positive. Anyway it's all just different opinion. I think Horehound has some solid songs but is inconsistent whereas Sea of Cowards is amazingly solid. To each their own.
I disagree about The Dead Weather for sure. I think Sea of Cowards is a better album than Horehound. As for the Raconteurs, I think Broken Boy Soldiers is probably the better album but I wouldn't call Consolers of the Lonely to be garbage. No argument on ICP. That was highly distressing. I like this song. Jack stated on the Third Man Records Vault chat earlier today that "the song love interruption is not indicative of the sound of the entire album"
Why is the sound so consistently awful on SNL? They're a huge show that attracts huge artists. You'd think they could get this together.
Sounds like Neil Young on bad acid trip. At first I thought the vocal ruined some otherwise cool instrumentals, but by the end I found it strangely compelling. Listened a few more times.
Some music is better with headphones on since you can hear the nuances more and the nuances are important. A very melodic straight-forward rock record is maybe better blasting on speakers with the windows down, but this kind of record is way more subtle and the subtlety is what people are supposed to be listening for. Hence headphones allow you to hear that better. It's not some elitist bullshit making an excuse for an album. There's just some music that is way more suited to headphones (or really nice speakers in a quiet room.)
I'm pretty sure you just can't hear it. I can't think of any reason why some people would have it in their stream and others wouldn't. Your ears have probably lost the ability to hear that frequency.
Calm down. I can accept that some people might not like Jack and that some people might not like Allison. That seems to be you. But to say that Jack white is "ruining music" is pretty farcical. I think despite what you may or may not think about Jack's music that it's pretty evident that he has a lot of respect for music and is making music that he and many others think is good, enjoyable and sometimes important. He does it for the right reasons and lots of people appreciate it. Nickelback is ruining music. Get your hyperbole right.
This album just keeps getting better. At first I was more into the album up to and including Melancholy Hill, but last night the second half really revealed itself to me, especially Cloud of Unknowing. Take some time to just sit and absorb that song without distractions and if you're in the right mood it'll be amazing. At least it was for me. Just a fantastic album overall. I have nothing but good things to say.
Having listened to this late last night and now again this morning I think I can safely say that this album is really really good.
