I'm still on this movie's side, but 55% because of Owen Wilson's character. "It's an altar Greg... or as you might call it a 'hopa'."
Ahhh! I fucking love Magnolia, but would love to see Gabe skewer it for WMOAT. So I'm voting for Magnolia, a movie I think is great?
"Real mean drug the girls first." - Roman Polanski
Klosterman had a really good essay in "Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs" about how reality tv actually is just like real life. He uses the example of how every character in season 1 of the real world is one of your friends.... Good read. I'd quote it or something but the book is all the way over there.
I love the synopsis written out on the apple trailers website: "Dylan (Justin Timberlake) and Jamie (Mila Kunis) think it's going to be easy to add the simple act of sex to their friendship, despite what Hollywood romantic comedies would have them believe. They soon discover however that getting physical really does always lead to complications." basically... "If you thought this was your typical Hollywood movie about friends trying to have sex with each other.... than you're absolutely right!"
"UGGHH!! This is why I hate fucking inside of airplane lavatories! Every time!"
Why we were all disgusted by Jeff Bridges' CGI face: "The uncanny valley is a hypothesis regarding the field of robotics.[1] The theory holds that when robots and other facsimiles of humans look and act almost like actual humans, it causes a response of revulsion among human observers. The "valley" in question is a dip in a proposed graph of the positivity of human reaction as a function of a robot's lifelikeness." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncanny_valley
Why was this comment downvoted? It's a fair correction. Although I'm sure most of the members would identify as Christians, that's not their name. And most of the comments have addressed their religion. ...still any white pride group (religiously motivated or otherwise) is a group of assholes.
3:08 - the time it took for Philip Seymour Hoffman to appear. ...This year has been pretty low on the Hoffman scale.
That guy is touchier than Ben Franklin in a brothel.

I think my favorite part is where he obviously has a hidden camera inside of a car dealership so it can look like he's polishing his ride. #classy
Has anybody called her yet, pretending to be a member of the press? Record the conversation please? K thx!
Ummm Should somebody start a paypal account to get him down there? I can chip in like twenty dollars for gas.
Bottom photograph: "Yeah Fruit of the Loom really is the brand for me. The cotton is just so soft, and that's a very important factor, when considering my underwear brand... especially when I count on having tear gas fired at my ass, for fighting the corporation." - Worst Anarchist Ever.

GABE: It's the little button on the... no the other... the one with the circle and the yeah that one, so yeah you push it and... no not yet, okay give us a signal and then press. Nope you gotta hold it first and then it focuses... NO! Aim and then press and hold-! ahhhh! I'm sorry Mr. Little, I MEAN MR. WiLLIAMS! It'll just be a second, I swear." MICHAEL K. WILLIAMS: C'mon now, don't make me huff and puff.
I wanted to just briefly toss out to the Videogum community that I would gladly read a blog written by Gabe that isn't necessarily Video (or whatever it is that is generally covered here) related, but instead explores and opens up to discussion a wide range of topics social, political, otherwise. If there is one thing that keeps me coming back to this blog, it is the fine mixture of hilarity and humanity in regards to just about anything, and pardon me for getting mildly serious/concerned here but Gabe you seem to be getting considerably more cynical in tone. Not that there is anything to be particularly super happy about in the world right now, but your voice seems a little trapped by the context of maintaining a pop culture sentiment to this blog. Anyways, whatever. It's always great to see a glimmer of hope and positivity when you speak pleasantly of the talents of a young kid making his own old spice commercial in the bathroom. And if you discover anything really cool or interesting or if there is any sort of charity/program/benefit/whatever that you're really digging and would like us to consider supporting, by all means throw it up on the blog.* *also it appears as if I'm making blog rules. I understand that this is also a job for you (yes? no?) and there are overlords with blog rules, etc. but ya know just a thought I had after a week of reading about some really dismal and upsetting shit.
You basically said, "I'm all for an everyday guy who isn't fit for office, running for office." The gentleman in question hasn't exactly displayed solid leadership qualities or proper knowledge of public policy. He was literally taking cues from his attorney off screen, during the interview. Plus the populist notion of "power of the average everyday citizen," doesn't exactly hold up when the suggestion arises, that the dude may be a stooge for some other giant corporate and/or political force. The situation so far, appears to be a massive embarrassment for Democracy.
Does anybody else have a strange desire to do laundry every time they see Ke$ha? It's like oh my god, if I don't put on some fresh clothing I might start looking like this awful dirty clothes hamper of depression.
Thank you! We're not just talking about a shitty movie writer, we're talking about a guy who invented deep sea submarines that can go deeper than ANY OTHER SUBMARINE. He was a consult to Nasa when creating the Mars rover. He invented a new kind of 3d camera as well as a completely new workflow for visual effects engineering. He's not just a popcorn movie director and celebrity with a massive ego (which no doubt he is); he is also a very brilliant scientist and engineer.

"And this transformation of our relationship to information will only continue, to the point where an expectation for immediate access to complete world knowledge from any geographic location imaginable will be considered an inalienable human right. At a certain point in the not too distant future, what will be weird is the idea of a world in which there WASN’T a video compiling every digital screen-wipe from season 3 of Home Improvement set to a Wavves song at our fingertips." - Gabe Mcluhan
"Restore Stephen Baldwin," weeknights on TLC.
Cormac McCarthy responds: "A much abated wind rushes over the caldera. Voices of the ancient whisper into the dead landscape. Sparks are in the distance, says the man. Cyrus rides up next to him, weeping for what might have been. Quien es esto? The man spits on the frozen corpse of a coyote. He spins his horse around and rides away. Because of all the tangled truths in this land, none were more certain than the fire in his blood rushing away from them."
May I add: "Your tampon is a neuralnet processor...a learning computer."
This one time at the Savannah Film Festival James Franco showed this AWFUL movie he wrote and directed called "The Ape." Afterwards he was shaking hands and signing Freaks and Geeks Dvds and I might have accidentally accused him of stealing a scene from the nineteenth century Swedish play "The Father" by August Strindbergh. I felt kind of felt bad cause he was otherwise a really nice guy, and I'm some jerk-off who name dropped a Nineteenth Century Swedish playwright.... Although, any heartache I might have caused him I'm sure was wiped away by a combination of "Spiderman" royalties and "Milk" indie cred.
"If you've ever been offended by them, you should turn it off." - Thomas Paine
Also... half a second of Ziggy Stardust playing the letter "L"? Anyone else catch that?
