what is it about hip hop that leads people to say and think sentences like "_______ is killing hip hop"? Even if Kitty Pryde was terrible how impact the whole genre? Is it just a really intense way of telling someone they suck? Is hip hop in trouble? Should someone start a kickstarter?

seems like they just wanted to combine a reunion, a top 40 safe band and a "new fun indie" band. Kind of like when people combine hip hop, jazz and pop punk and it always works.
