i like most of what i've heard but this slow release of songs for months in advance of an album just means that when it comes out we'll have already heard most of it. it just makes the actual release a bit irrelevant.
she called his parents dirty refugees too. i mean they were both born in england (and his mum is white) not that that really matters as it just says a whole lot about how she views refugees and therefore some of the most vulnerable people on the earth. horrible.
they're amazing live in a proper concert setting with a big sound system but i dunno if it works as well in a tame toned-down tv studio setting. reminds me of how björk live shows are absolutely trippy and huge sounding but her tv appearances (except for jools holland!) never quite seem to have that same energy. there's never any bass on these shows for starters.
wow, i thought being in a band was primarily about music first and foremost. if they feel the need to pull all the stunts listed above - especially the latest one!! - then it doesn't fill me with confidence about their actual songs and no i am not gonna bother checking them out any time soon... trash
omg yes! like, even if the guy wasn't autistic and was actually stoned on the job, harassing him by making a selfie video of him is not an appropriate course of action. just move on with your day fiddy... asshole
i completely get that she isn't doing it to sell records etc, i know that she is a political artist and i love her for that but i'm just not sure this was entirely successful in its execution.
she has a lot more agency as an artist than a girl who lost her family to a drone strike, which is the perspective she says the song is from, so i feel she could have addressed such an issue with a bit more nuance. that's the problem with juxtaposition as shock tactic, it can be a bit icky.
great track sonically but feeling very uncomfortable about the use of drone victim suffering-as-lyrical-refrain thing. a bit too madonna-provocative, not enough m.i.a.-provocative...
omg he's so awful. look how pleased he is with his contrived and obviously forced attempt at 'throwing shade', ugh. he should stick to making lite pop, no one cares what he has to say in interviews. oh and he looks like a thumb with a haircut.
wow this is gorgeous! even if it's a bit off-beat for the usual bond fare i can't believe it got turned down in favour of sam smith. well, i can, obviously, but still...
also, still waiting for björk to do a bond theme too. maybe if she hadn't already recorded 3 amazing bond-esque songs in the first place... (play dead, bachelorette and wanderlust)
