This seems like a montage of the last 10 years of M.I.A.’s visual output. Even the song has traces. This is not to diminish Beyoncé, just to say that it’s cool that M.I.A. has that kind of influence on one of the world’s biggest artists.
He's the front man of the Slow Hollows. Here ya go: https://slowhollows.bandcamp.com/
OMG, is that why I like the National so much...mind blown.
You were the first guy playing Daft Punk to the rock kids, weren't you?
How did I not know about these guys? Thanks Caitlin, you've given me my latest obsession.
Man, I'm sad to be in a world were being a guileless fan is seen as being a "pandering idiot". smh
Carole King and her ex-husband already had that on lock down in the 60s w/ "He Hit Me & It Felt Like A Kiss": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f20Oz9Yr_So
If you were a pedophile whose specific kink was underage girls in nude leotards, and you were sort of conflicted about it, I guess you'd be uncomfortable, too.
What is it that you get?
The weird irony is that she's become the person that she was railing against in "212". That song was amazing, and showed the promise of an exciting new voice on the scene. Unfortunately, for me anyway, it proved to be a one-time occurrence.
I would love to see the response (especially by Fox News pundits) if "Reverence" was released today.
Why on earth would she have to apologize? This was obvious for what it was: two different sides of Sia fighting for control. That's how I took it on first watch, and she confirms it. Why should artists have to apologize when their art is misinterpreted? The road we're going down is getting ridiculous.
Who knew Kendrick was one of Bebe's Kids.
" but Smith is right about at least one thing: Actual fans are never going to be bummed out that a favorite band is playing for too long." I disagree with this. Back in the mid/late 90's I went to see Guided By Voices at the Cat's Cradle. At the time, GBV were part of a holy indie-rock trinity for me (Pavement and Sebadoh were the other two.) This was the first time that I had seen them and I was psyched. The show was great and I thoroughly enjoyed it, but once the third encore began, I left. And I don't regret it.
I saw what you did there before you did it and hoped that you wouldn't do it.
Ha...it's ironic that he plays a Spiral Stairs song before introducing Malkmus.
I understand that you don't like him, but not many homophobes have two out members in their rap collective.
As I type this, there's a Spotify ad below the submit comment button.
He thinks, it's really laughable. Ha ha ha ha ha ha.
Influential doesn't always equal great.
