Yep, Stereogum is part of the problem. Anyone who read all of what Young said could understand what he meant. Stereogum had the full quote and they still chose to publish that clickbait headline. Apology forthcoming?
They played every song from 1984's The Top. What other band, that's been around as long as The Cure, would pepper their set with every song from an album that was not even close to their most popular, as well as throwing in a never before played B-side and a couple other deep album cuts not played in a decade or so? Just amazing.
They also played Only When You Leave: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhFHu2wH5h4
Exactly. I expected Young's video to be in the top 3. No one else was (or is) ballsy enough to criticize the selling out/off of music to corporations.
Actually, Dulli fought AGAINST having Honky's Ladder as the single. From an interview with the AV Club: "That was not my choice of a single, and it just got kind of rammed down my throat."
Truly one of the most underrated, under-appreciated bands of all time. For me, Gentlemen is their magnum opus, but everything that followed maintained a quality level that is incredibly impressive.
Great movie! And, if you haven't, see Ti West's previous film The House of the Devil!
Guitar Romantic is the best punk album of the 2000's, hands down.

Well, at least it's nice to see Neil Young on a list. Psychedelic Pill is a great album.

Take Shelter! My favourite movie of 2011!
It is not that I hate this. I love it. I love it very much. But I love it against my better judgment.
