I just went through a massive YYYs binge recently and came to the realization that they're one of my all time favorite bands. A little bit of bias towards the early/heavier stuff here (though understandable), but songs like Runaway, Turn Into, and Despair are worthy of a spot imo.
Here's mine:
Maps
Cheated Hearts
Turn Into
Skeletons
Y Control
Despair
Heads Will Roll
Rockers to Swallow
Date with the Night
Runaway
As someone who is being targeted by current political policies, it is good for our sanity to step away from it every once in a while and practice a little self care. Taking time to figure out what you can contribute to a world in turmoil is not problematic imo. I find "Love" to be incredibly inspirational right now, so I'm thankful for the time she took to make it.
I grew up in this area and it is by far one of the most congested parts of NYC. This is where traffic for both airports, Manhattan, Long Island, and the bridges all converge. With a festival already happening at the Hall right next door, this is going to be a total nightmare.
I get that they were trying to be super inclusive with this, especially since the tour stops are limited (at least in the US). I think maybe including less stores would have made it marginally cooler, gotten more people to each event, and maybe eliminated some of the shipping issues they're having. I mean, there are 3 events in Atlanta. Totally unnecessary.
I get what you're saying, but her voice is her voice. She can't really change it because she's 45. I think the article is on point that the issue is the music, she's appealing to moms who watch the Voice and that sound doesn't pair as well with a quirky voice.
Comments like this are the reason that many struggle with their sexuality and deny it so vehemently that they convince themselves that they are not what they are/feel. Coming out later in life is actually more common, regardless of the fact that he probably knew deep down since he was a child. As stated above, "I wanted so badly to be straight." That's because it can be a nightmare in this world for people who are not what is perceived to be "normal," and there is no intention on ruining someone's life. He didn't just *realize* it, he just *accepted* it. I was attracted to Judy Garland when I was 8 years old and dressed as a boy until my teens, but I had no idea what that even meant until I was 20. Some people do, though, and I think people are coming out younger and younger now because they spend less time denying it and more time accepting it. I don't mean to be rude, but there is a lot you have to learn about the "tenant of gayness" and probably many many other issues.
