i listened to it twice in a row!
thanks for the reminder that song machine is perfect
just glad that was so off-putting to so many people here
honestly, that's the most insane thing anyone involved has said
pseudointellectuals just love taking any opportunity to use the -ian suffix
That clip of the crowd singing along to given to fly should win an Oscar or a Grammy, or both
frusciante delivering once again
$200+ on a single piece of music or related ephemera? (concert tickets, instruments, stereo equipment notwithstanding)
just for a second i thought it was a cover of Of Montreal's 'It's Different for Girls'
PSA for his previous record, The World at Night, which featured the twin masterpieces The World At Night and The Soldier
A+L is pure, everyday magic
ive also never gotten into AFP, though i sas them live and the show was phenomenal, not surprisingly. and after the show one of the most incredible moments of my concert going life happened -- me and my friend were hanging around behind the arena after the show, about 100 ft. from the the door where crew and others were going in and out of. after about 30 mins the door opens and flea comes out holding a bowl of cereal up close to his mouth with a spoon in the other hand, sees the 10 or so fans hanging around outside and is surprised to see them and stops dead in his track , does an about-face and goes right back inside, was hilarious. but then another 15-20 mins later, thom emerges, and walks right over to us fans, signing autographs and saying hello. he walked from one side of the group of fans to the other where i was standing, and right when he walked over and was standing right in front of me, he says, 'has anyone else come out to say hi?' and i responded miming eating a bowl of cereal, 'yeah, flea came out eating a bowl of cereal and but seemed spooked so he want back inside, and thom says, shaking his head, 'he's weird'.
Let's Face It is full of great songs -- all the singles were great, plus most of the album tracks, my personal fave being Break So Easily, that chorus is heaaaavvvvvvy
and YCHISMB, Tonight, and a good deal of RTRWRA. YCHISMB is staggeringly great as well, just listened to it the other night and it's truly just as strong as the debut
Billy Goodbye grew on me wayyy more than i expected and i like the sound of this one better off the bat than i did that one, so there's hope yet
that's what i meant by people who know 'the machines' -- just make more of them, what's the problem, ya know?
