Definitely still prefer "Grassroots" as their definitive album, more of that hippie-funk-rock than their later pop rock rap, which was far less original.
Crucify me if you want, but I think you're doing 311 a disservice here, they were blowing up on radio with their own self-titled album a year before the Sublime self-titled was released.
"DISTORTION-soaked" album, Peripheral Vision? I think you misspelled "reverb." There is a serious lack of distortion on that album, which is kind of what gives it that cohesive sound that so many people loved.
Stoked on more new music from these guys, one of if not my favorite from last year.
Yeah, i agree with your points completely. I'm not trying to defend him. I guess it's good that alcoholism made him blurt out these comments, in a way, since now he has to address those deep-rooted issues directly.
This is awesome! Talk about a forgotten band (critically). One of the biggest snubs in Pitchfork history. Remember when they gave Source Tags & Codes a 10.0 rating? Then remember when they listed their top 200 albums of the 2000s and listed Source Tags as number 100? Yeah, ok. How many albums in the top 100 were given a perfect 10 when they were released? Sigh.
Nah, I love Cornell. Mainly commented not to be a troll, rather in reaction to so many people ripping on Billy Corgan every chance they get. Music appreciation is so subjective. This is simply a forum where people discuss said music appreciation, etc. This paragraph you wrote, however, is pretty insulting and immature.
