Such an incredibly solid album... And you're 100% on point about "Nothin' But Time" being quite possibly the best track she's ever done.
Can't even express how glad I am to know that there's a true Walkmen fan within Stereogum...
"Hopefully it won’t have a dream-sequence level where you have to balance on an invisible red line while screaming-baby sound effects play on a loop; that thing stopped me cold when I was playing the first game." hahaha same here man... scariest game sequence ever.
fuck off alan... fuck off.
nice work with this piece tom... quite well written.
it's just that highly infectious bassline... it screams paul mccartney.
really enjoying the new direction this song indicates the band is (potentially) taking with this next album... that being a slightly more accessible pop sound and less edgy. can't wait to hear the new lp.
all fans of krug's work should know that if you order the deluxe bundle of the 'heartbreaking bravery' album, you will relieve a voucher for an instant download of the new album. and trust me, it's worth every fuckin penny.
Moonface - Teary Eyes And Bloody Lips
How incredibly badass would it be if The Walkmen released a double lp produced by Phil Ek?!
there's trolls coming outta the woodwork for this one...
Real Estate - Municipality
NOT GONNA LIE! I'm really disappointed that Kid Rock's 'Born Free' didn't make the list this year... Because regardless of what "year" the album was "released" it should be within the top 3 albums of the year for the rest of eternity.
why must this only be an excerpt?!! gahhhhh!!!
i. fucking. love. this. band.
Without a doubt Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer?
bedazzled boobies
Cults - Oh My God YACHT - Dystopia Beastie Boys - Make Some Noise TV Girl - If You Want It (You Got It) Panda Bear - Last Night At The Jetty Beirut - East Harlem and I'll have to care over "LCD Sounsystem - Home" from 2010... it's just that damn good.
I just want Earl to get back on the mic...

and it's not as though i don't like hipster runoff.. it's actually a great blog. i just think the whole ''first'' thing is ridiculous and some people seem to be obsessed with it. i think carles might just feel the same way: http://www.hipsterrunoff.com/2011/03/some-bro-tweets-abt-his-first-first-has-first-commenting-hipster-runoff-gone-too-far.html
simply put, i just think it's fuckin retarded
you can take your "first" bullshit right back to hipster runoff or where ever the fuck you got it.. we do just fine without that shit on stereogum
I couldn't tell if this was authentic new Justice or an imposter until I listened to AFAS and Demon Says.. they definitely have a Justice feel to them. And given the fact that BecauseMusic took down the videos from YouTube, that's a good indication that what we're hearing is the new Justice.. and I personally like what we're hearing. Sounds like these tracks haven't been mastered yet though..that or the bitrate is really low.
fuckin right.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zd4zGt13IE&hd=1
From the Destroyer page on Mergerecords.com: "An 8-piece Destroyer orchestra will tour the US and Canada in support of the album beginning in March 2011." I've already got ticket to the shows in Boston and New York.. Cannot. fucking. wait.
Considering how great the music videos for 'Monster' and 'Runaway' are, I find this one to be quite disappointing. Especially the stupid flashing words bullshit. What a cop-out..
that Felix Cartal video is disturbingly awesome.
"Drugs are bad, mmmkay."
