Thank you for bringing this up. As a fan of the band's music I've observed how shitty the bands fans can be with this shit.. They're the type that'll villainize that woman for coming out with her very believable story. She doesn't have any evidence, her evidence is her story - most abuse victims don't have evidence. Anyway. #NotAllToolFans I guess?
Brutal stain on Toronto. It's an incredible city but between this, the mass deaths of cyclists, and the Trumpism of mayor Doug Ford, it's become very tainted
I feel like the gentlemen of Queer Eye will not be attending anytime soon
OMFG. I just died in your arms tonight.
SOPHIE : "Immaterial" forever... it sounds like it's from the year 4000 and makes me cry with happiness
Surprised you didn't mention "Arch Carrier", my absolute fav Autechre track As gorgeous as it is unsettling, and one of their most beautiful arresting melodies in their catalogue. Dying for a vinyl reissue
I splurged on the pink version, and it wasn't cheap to ship to Canada, but it looks queer as fuck and I couldn't be more excited for this to arrive !! Canary Yellow is effing gorrrrrgeous ( PYNK if yr curious : https://www.hellomerch.com/collections/deafheaven)
So far SOPHIE, Beach House and OPN are in a three way tie No other record sounds like SOPHIE and I'm living for it
That Dilly Dally vid is incredible !!
Fantastic piece. It bums me out to know there won't be another OPN full length for a while, but I can see him putting out some stunner collaborations And speaking of Twigs, can you imagine how fucking awesome her next release will be ?!
Very nice. Ok WHAT is the name of the last song on KIDS SEE GHOST where Ye raps over that Kurt Cobain acoustic guitar doodle? There's like, three diff titles I've seen I really like that track, perhaps due to the novelty of Kurt living in his girlfriend's house, recording lo-fi 4 track tunes in 1987, only for it to end up on the world's biggest hip hop superstar's album three decades later. It's a good track
Immaterial is absolutely astonishing. And MAJOR shout out to Cecile Believe from Mozart's Sister for providing so many of the stunning diva vocals on the record ! I'm obsessed with the more subtle tracks on the record : "Is It Cold In the Water" / "Infatuation" / "Not Okay" is the triptych of my dreams Serious contender for AOTY for me
I'm still bummed he didn't credit Karem Lotfy's "Fr3sh" on "Thought About Killing You" - there's really no reason not to, and up and coming electronica artists need the money and attention
Gord Downie's album is amazing, but the 10,000 dollar cash prize should go to bands that need it I'd love to see U.S. Girls's win, In A Poem Unlimited is absolutely incredible. Have you read through those lyrics?! Wow.
Beggar's Banquet no question ! Amazing collection
SO excited for both SOPHIE and (hellurr!) Melody's Echo Chamber (!!) MEC's self titled has been in constant rotation the last six years and I can't wait to hear the follow up
Sorry but I'll have to go with Hot Fuss Amazing record
I love these lists so much thank you for compiling this! My own personal top 10 would include “No Need To Argue”, “Everything I Said” and how could you not include “I Can’t Be With You” ?! 💔
"Zombie" convinced me to spend my allowance their second album, but it was the deep cuts that really got me. "The Icicle Melts", "Everything I Said" and especially the closer "No Need to Argue" are just so gorgeous and affecting Really sad and confused right now
