"That's a mystery to me, 'cause I don't get it." This quote sums up Billy's problem perfectly. And what's all this about competition? What is Billy trying to win a Grammy or something? He needs to let it go and do his own thing - his best writing was in Siamese Dream and Gish, before he considered himself to be in competition with his "contemporaries."
Definitely the White Album!
One of my favorite things about Jack was always his wailing guitar solos (i.e. Ball & Buscuit), but lately (solo albums), he seems set on playing the highest, pluckiest notes possible. Come on Jack, let those strings sing!
I mean, can you imagine J singing Drain You?! And the guitar??!!
I hope somebody has footage of the J Mascis songs!
Definitely not the best album, but I think it created more MM fans than it alienated. I was a casual MM listener before Good News, but this album prompted me to buy their back-catalog, of which I love Moon the most. I can put their whole discography on shuffle now, and while Good News songs aren't my favorites, they mix in without offending too much...
Not what you'd think... my favorite is Yellow Ledbetter
I agree, Siamese Dream is in my top 5 of all time. In Utero and Vs... might make top 20 (Nevermind and Ten are top 10)... but that's just my opinion.
Until you said Russian Post, I thought you were talking about North Dakota.
I find my self thumbs-upping both you guys here. I agree more with Cerebus on the value, but your post, Michael_, is more LOL-worthy. :)
How do we know that's the final episode?
Who's Jonny Greenwood? Who's Ritchie Blackmore?
Been on his playlist "for years"? What, did the Aussies get a very-advance copy of El Camino?
Such a victim. Get over yourself, Axl. You haven't made anything worthwhile since the original lineup broke up, so maybe Guns is bigger than you.
