Am I crazy or does pitchfork not really "trash" music anymore?
that song is absolutely phenomenal...the chord changes are so beautiful and I wanted to see some of that same energy here
Am I Wrong is one of my favorite top 40 songs this year. I do feel like it's overproduced with the synth sounds that come in about 7 seconds into the track
this album is great. i feel like it's a semi conscious move toward a more accessible sound.
Usher + live instrumentation = good. He needs to have a consistant live band with him as he tours. It really livens the mood.
Absolutely agree. It's cool that Thom's inspired by Burial & Four Tet, but i feel like AMOK is a weak, surface level attempt at that music style
this is really good. but it seems weird calling radiohead/thom yorke projects simply "really good." nothing was jaw droppingly exquisite like some tracks on In Rainbows though
Love Cass. Hopefully more music soon.
that picture freaks me out for some reason
"His initials might be “PC,” but his Twitter feed sure is not today." ok, Liz.
the first single was love
exactly. i'm cool with coldplay, because they readily acknowledge that they are the most mainstream band in the world. and while they are "pop-y" and such you can't deny that they take risks with their sound at least some of the time (even if they crash and burn) m&s fans bother me more than the actual band, because they think they're some sort of special snowflake for listening to guys who wear tweed vests and not ke$ha
cale, nail on the head
in the words of actual riot grrrl kathleen hanna.: "Beyoncé isn’t Beyoncé because she reads comments on the Internet. Beyoncé is in Ibiza, wearing a stomach necklace, walking hand in hand with her hot boyfriend. She’s going on the yacht and having a mimosa. She’s not reading shitty comments about herself on the Internet, and we shouldn’t either. I just think, Would Beyoncé be reading this? No, she would just delete it or somebody would delete it for her. What I really need to do is close the computer and then talk back to that voice and say, Fuck you. I don’t give a shit what you think. I’m Beyoncé. I’m going to Ibiza with Jay-Z now, fuck off. Being criticized is part of the job, but seeking it out isn’t. That’s our piece to let go."
I'm no expert, but isn't progressive feminism being able to do what you want to do? Whether it means wearing ankle skirts and turtlenecks or gyrating in a leather leotard?
Jesus, they have the best album art. I'm counting down the days till 5/7.
a few great acts, but mehhhhhh
ridiculously excited
