Are they a gay band? I never considered that before, but then the lead singer was doing that double-HJ motion, and "Queens" are typically gay men.
I love this girl.
Because it's so hard to find news about Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry and Gaga on the rest of the Internet? I'm confused why Stereogum is doing this. And I'm not thrilled that "Best Comments of the Week" will be full of Beliebers defending their prince. Eh, whatever. There's really no such thing as selling out anymore.
That "Get Lucky" song was cute for a couple of days. I don't understand how/why everyone loves it so much. ("Instant Crush" was 1000 times better, but it gets no love.) Just more evidence toward my theory that 2013 was a weak year for music. This whole list is proof.
That it? Looks like 2014 will be even worse than the crummy music year of 2013.
What's the third definitive version of Heartbeats? I only know of the two.
Stop telling me that 40 year old actress playing Lorde is actually 17 years old. There's no way.
Wow, one thing we can all agree on after looking at this list: 2013 was a horrible year for music. Very disappointing. I hope 2014 has something better in store for us all.
The pop-up ads on each album cover here is one of the worst things I've ever seen on the internet, rivaling the youtube ads. Congrats, whoever came up with that nonsense.
Wow that Death Grips is really something.
Wow, that's a dick move by the YouTube guy. I'm with Kanye on this.
Great list! I always loved Corduroy, glad to see it get some attention here. "Given to Fly" is my favorite Pearl Jam song so naturally I'd put that at #1. Still, I can't nit-pick this list.
Yeah, this is a disappointing album, and these live versions don't help. I loved their first 2 albums so much. I guess they needed to be more poppy to appeal to the masses.
Good list. I haven't listened to Metallica lately, the black album kind of turned me off to their music, or maybe I just outgrew it. So I'm no expert, but that top 4 seems spot-on to me.
Yeezus is his worst selling album? That's bizarre. I think it's his best, by far.
The Weeknd is just one dude? He just calls himself The Weeknd? That's weird.
That new version of the James Blake song was horrible.
She's really 37 years old, right? RIGHT? There's no way that woman is a teenager.
How freaking weird is that Jools Holland character, and the way he roams across the stage to introduce the band? Totally unnatural and uncomfortable. Is he popular in another country? Douche-chills.
What a strange order. But it's hard to argue with it since the author wrote so many words supporting it.
This list is bizarre.
Eww no. That was not good.
The Day I Tried to Live is #1? I can't agree with that. I'm not sure I'd put it on my top 10 at all. But at least you left off Black Hole Sun. I was worried that would show up. Rusty Cage should be on here.
Yeah, she's hot.
Haha you're "spinning" it!
What does this even mean? Didn't the rest of us already quit the Pixies in 1995?
Get Lucky is a new song? I swear I thought that was an old disco song from the 70s. Weird. I vote for the Cayucas song or Diane Young, although they've both been around a few months already. How about Defriended from Beck? I can't think of any good songs, I'm just trying to avoid work.
What movie is this? I think I want to see all of it.
Dripping honey? You're digusting.
Yikes, this has been a horrible year for music so far. Most of these are fine, but nothing great.
The creepiest part was when Kitty says she was jealous of the girl. Huh?
What's wrong with that girl's face? Also, how come they couldn't find some chick to play the drums? This is outrageous! Sexist!
This is a fucking mess. It goes too fast to read anything when it starts getting interesting in the late 90s.
This list is iffy. Not horrible, but I would probably pick at least 7 different ones. My favorite is "Driving your Girlfriend Home." I also like "Spring-heeled Jim" and "Boxers" a lot. "Disappointed" and "Dial-a-Cliche" are great. None of these are on the list here.
Interesting comments. I just always assumed that everyone greed The Queen is Dead was their best album. Like it was just a fact.
That is a weird list. Was the Taylor Swift inclusion serious?
