I mean, I LOVE Swans. I shook hands with Gira last year, upfront at the railings with no earplugs.
But in no way they are " terrifying ". Maybe Swans Mrk 1 in the no wave years, but Swan Mrk III is crushing and loud, but nowhere terrifying.
prob in the minority but i cant get into Shriek. at all. its not the synths, its just that the melodies were not memorable at all.
I liked their adult swim single and was hoping it would go more in that direction.

Big Bjork fan here. Never bothered to listen to JN before this, so this debate spurred me to listen to a song off the new album ( Sapokanikan).
Dude, she sounds nothing like Bjork.
Maybe she shares some of the quirky, eccentric character of Bjork , but vocal wise, cant be more different.
That said, im still not a fan though.
The weird thing is...when they first started out , they were ok, none of these trolling bs.
After the one female in the band left, i dont know, they started to act all stupid. the "hey look i made a stupid statement, look at me look at me!" kinda stupid.
if i wanted Beyonce, i just go listen to Bey. Im not so sure about this, part of me misses the old , slightly off kilter synthpop Chairlift.... this just sounds like second rate Bey prod...
