i feel like there's no way to not sound snobby and still say this but here goes. She made "The Milk Eyed Mender." He was in "That's My Boy." This makes my brain hurt.
I still like "The Battle of Los Angeles" more than the self-titled...
respectable list although i definitely have to question the lack of "Summertime Clothes" although "Brothersport" is my second favorite tune on MPP so good choice there.
you win Stereogum comments forever (and I even like the video but still. best comment ever).
I'm glad to see that Pitchfork has become an adjective now.
how is "Reckoner" better than "Idioteque" or "Everything in It's Right Place?"
I was going to question your decision to place that K-Pop video so high but then you quoted Frank Sobatka so I'll let it slide.
Bonnaroo's Silent Disco would beg to differ
yeah if you don't think this is completely adorable, there is something wrong.
This is the best news story of the day.
this is bizarrely enjoyable.
god i can't wait for this. sad that I have to choose between a lot of great acts over the week. i was really looking forward to tUnE-yArDs and Ben Howard but I have to pick one. oh well, Merrill Garbus it is then
maybe I'm way too partial to the entirety of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, but i was not digging this.
I realize that AnCo isn't everybody's cup of tea, but I've never understood why this band has become the internet whipping boy as some poster child of overly pretentious avant-pop. when i listen to tracks like "My Girls" or "Summertime Clothes" and remove any of the band's hype, it's just gorgeous, fun pop music. i feel like unnecessary hype backlash only begins to describe the reaction to this band.
Outside of Kanye's output, Black Hippy might be the best thing happening in hip-hop right now. the whole crew (but especially Kendrick Lamar) is just setting the rap world on fire.
yeah. i caught them at Glasslands in Brooklyn for their Record Release party. they put on a great show live. i've really been shocked that "Friends of Friends" hasn't caught on more because it was a really fun track.
i'm really glad i'm not the only person who thought she was channeling Joanna Newsom on this track
yeah. i mean he's right, but that was definitely rough. realizing i'm saying something terrible about myself here, but I enjoy Darren Criss' voice but he was not up to the challenge of that song by any stretch of the imagination.
