My favorite is the Frightened Rabbit cover they did for Scotland's New Years Eve show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvEkgywRCLE&ab_channel=LeslieBrown
This band is really important to me and this was kind of scary. I saw the post-meltdown post but wondered what the deleted tweets had said. I hope that he figures it out, for his and (less importantly) our sakes.
BK shows sold out, like, immediately. :( :( :( :(
Not the first time they've covered the national though. This is one of my favorite youtube videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcQ7xjzVE90
how has no one mentioned that the artwork looks like "fuck" instead of "yuck"
This album is so awesome. So glad it got some love here!
Stagediving is a completely selfish act that only serves to at hurt the people below you or take them out of the experience. Don't do it.
Anyone who booed at this concert should be removed from the gene pool. Take your negativity elsewhere. The man is a living legend. If you think BB King "owes" you something as a performer at this point, go away (preferably forever). This is without even mentioning the fact that there aren't a lot of reasons you should ever be booing an 88 year old, let alone BB da gawd.
all the rapping about gadgets and technology makes sense if it was recorded for the Tron soundtrack or its remix album, yeah?
As much as I love Fireworks, I'd have to agree. They deserve it though, they've been making fantastic pop-punk for years now.
Very surprised there was no "Song for Zula" or ANY of the CHVRCHES on any of the editor's lists. I really thought that those were the two "locks" for a lot of the year-end lists. 1. Phosphorescent - Song for Zula 2. Frightened Rabbit - Nitrous Gas/Dead Now (Couldn't decide) 3. Kanye - Blood on the Leaves 4. Into It Over It - A Curse Worth Believing 5. CHVRCHES - We Sink 6. Radiator Hospital - Our Song/Your Boyfriend (Couldn't decide) 7. All Dogs - Buddy 8. The Front Bottoms - Twin Size Mattress 9. Rhye - Open 10. Dads - Boat Rich
Should I wait until tomorrow morning to listen to it, then?
Grow Up, Dude grew (groan) on me a lot. I'm looking forward to this new full length.
I thought Frightened Rabbit's newest LP deserved to be somewhere on the list (I say this as an admitted FR fanboy), but I can't really argue against too many of the albums on the list. Also, for all the press on the #emorevival, i'm surprised none of the bands made it onto the list. I imagined into it. over it and a great big pile of leaves would've made it. I was personally hoping Radiator Hospital would make it, too, but I know that didn't get much press. Anyways, good list, nice job, see you next year.
How is having a violent death relevant in ANY way? It wasn't like he chose to get assassinated. We celebrate plenty of people who had violent deaths. This is the dumbest thing ever. This lady is a moron and probably a racist and I hate her.
I was so looking forward to a list like this. I got hooked on Into It. Over It. through Augusta, GA and discovered The World Is a Beautiful... but was hungry for more. Thanks for making it easier on me. Y'all should do one of these lists on the new wave of pop-punk bands, too (Radiator Hospital, All Dogs, Sidekicks, The Ambulars, basically everyone on Salinas....).
Oh man, I've been waiting for this. This is hard for me, but I'll try to limit myself to 10. In no particular order: Square 9 (Could be replaced with Yawns) Poke Good Arms Backwards Walk Keep Yourself Warm Living In Color Nitrous Gas The Wrestle Holy Yes, I Would Songs I'm upset about leaving off the list: nothing like you, dead now, skip the youth, woodpile, oil slick, SNAKE, it's christmas so we'll stop Also shout out to two of my favorite covers ever, "Don't go breaking my heart (with craig finn!) and set you free". I love this band.
it's pretty amazing so far. some definite goosebump moments. only just starting my second play through, but I think new slaves, i'm in it, blood on the leaves, and bound 2 are my favorites so far. when that beat starts hitting on blood on the leaves...wow!
No love for Frightened Rabbit? Yeesh.
My favorite is when he says synthesizer.
