seriously, i hate to take it out on you, because there are many dickheads like you sperming all over animal collective on this site, but dude, it needs to be said: there is nothing noteworthy about either animal collective or mpp that deserves a decade mention. i am still blown away that they are this year's number one. what exactly have they ever like uh, done? wow, they can use creepy vocal overdubs and harpsichord loops! in every song! accompanied by community college-worthy "music videos"! can you believe it! i have never heard anything like them! oh wait i have and they've done nothing amazing or groundbreaking. they are just weird in a lame way and even that is not enough to say that they're anything noteworthy. seriously, mpp is such a sad example of what would be their best work. it's not directed at you, as much as it is at the general population of this site but seriously. shut the fuck up.

there really is something pretty good goin on here. i can't help but think it starts to lose a bit of its momentum by track 5 or 6, but the opening 3 songs are really probably the strongest first 3 i've heard this year
