My issue with the Africa cover is that it's a note-for-note recreation of the original, which only makes sense if Weezer were a Toto tribute band. The point of a cover should be to put your unique spin on the song.

Come on, you can't say I don't have a legitimate beef here. Of course there's original content on Stereogum, and most of it is very good (I personally love the Worst to Best series and wish you would do those a lot more). But the YouTube plugs seem to have overshadowed the essays and reviews. That's all I'm saying. Jeez, I thought I only got downvotes around here when I talk about how much I hate Oasis.
