I knew I'd heard of her previously but couldn't place where, then I checked Streaming Site Who Shall Not Be Named and saw I favorited "Mixer". Immediately put this album on after, it's really good!
Trust me, it's not always going to be this epic of a pop masterpiece :D I went to that web site that shows what was #1 on your birthday & checked future years... there are some goose eggs for sure haha
That sounds AWESOME. Bjork is an artist I've never gotten into but would 100% go to one of her shows on the basis of everything I've seen. I feel like I would appreciate it either way.
Welcome to your 30s! They've been my best decade yet & I wish you just as many good vibes.
Based on this comment I finally listened to this song, and HOLY MOLY so good. The bass line is indeed great. I get the vague "Blurred Lines" comparison but I think the "WOO"s kind of are the extent of that for me.
I meant to post this earlier but thank you for the awesome podcast/call-in show last week!! I loved it!
As I noted in TNOCS today is my birthday, and so I took the day off to relax & do a whole lot of nothing. Hoping for some more fun times in Toronto soon, maybe a restaurant next week when things reopen.
Also just started reading Best Movie Ever (about Josie & the Pussycats) and I feel so sad every time I see Adam Schlesinger's name. What a treasure.
Very excellent column. Today is my birthday and this song was #1 on my birthday in 1993, when I was but 5 years old. I was just thinking about some of the best vocal performances of all time the other day & this is most certainly up there, she really just takes this song from boring-90s-ballad to the-most-iconic-90s-ballad.
Oooo I like this, and love the two of them together. Like with "Good Ones" it feels like it's missing just like... a little something? A bridge maybe? But in general enjoying it on the first few listens.
I know you're trolling, but just in case: if you look at the facts of the case, even an average lawyer could have won this case. The judge & Cardi's team tried to convince them to settle out of court but Tasha K's team wouldn't. Tasha K admitted in _on the stand_ that she lied about Cardi B to generate views & money, while saying in her videos that she was being truthful. It's pretty much open and close defamation per se?
