I once saw Jeff Garlin do standup in Chicago (maybe 8 years ago) and he had two grocery bags full of random stuff from his house with him on stage. During the set, he would pick up an item, riff on it for about 30 seconds, then toss it into the audience to the first person that raised their hand. I ended up with "Dial M for Murder" on DVD. My friend ended up with this very CD.
RIP Funkhouser.
doesn't the sexism go the other way, though? i mean, if kanye was getting all the credit for yeezus, weren't there an equal number of slighted male musicians that weren't getting credit?
"For someone like me, who actually believes in the Jesus portrayed here but who finds most of the media dedicated to him these days to be as bloated and inauthentic as the church culture it springs from, this album is a precious devotional and a reassurance that it’s still possible for Christian belief to inspire powerful creative activity."
i totally agree with each word. very well said.
