this has probably been covered elsewhere, but why has there been no discussion of other publications' year end lists? arguing about these lists was one of my favorite stereogum exercises.
i'm still mystified...how is LDR trending down but still in first? do the thumbs mean anything at all? after two straight weeks with downward trends, so does this mean that two weeks ago she was ranked -1? please help.
srsly. i've commented this before, but i (we?) would love reviews of these live shows. i mean, i enjoy photos as much as the next dude, but some insight on the performance, as well as a setlist, would be great. justsayin'.
me neither. can anybody explain, because "a package containing the record on two clear vinyl LPs and 625 pieces of art work" doesn't sound anything like a newspaper.
re: mbdtf-it's enjoyable pop music with an edge. it doesn't change my life and i prolly won't be listening to it in a year, but for now, it's nice.
re: double take-don't you think you would get some more meaningful opinions if you had waited a bit longer before reassessing, and in turn, asking readers for their reassessment? i'm all for offering opinions, but i think it's more advantageous to wait a while before coming back to evaluate an album.
i guess this whole exercise is just a product of where we are as internet critics. not only are we evaluating music before it is even released, but we are giving a second evaluation before it really has time to marinate.
don't get me wrong, i love lcd soundsystem. a favorite band of the last five years. however, i think pitchfork is off on them this time around. this is happening is enjoyable, but probably not the second best album of the year.
however, the greater head-scratcher is the placement of the "i can change" (#3) and "all i want" (#12) on the singles list. really? REALLY? fine songs, but they do realize "dance yrself clean" and "home" came out this year, no?

how hard is it to provide some details about the show? setlist? new songs? i mean, i would appreciate the pictures if they were easier to flip through.
