surprised at the exclusion of "knotty pine". also, i see your "two doves" and raise you an "impregnable question".
my favorite part of this album is that guest verse by j ivy on "never let you down". take 'em to church.
i got seoul, but i'm not korean.
this has probably been covered elsewhere, but why has there been no discussion of other publications' year end lists? arguing about these lists was one of my favorite stereogum exercises.
after listening to this EP, burial very well might be a he/she.
the best thing about this list is the ads that show up over the album covers.
so, in conclusion, let's just wait and see? shouldn't that be the theme for all "premature evaluations"?
i got really excited when i read the headline because i thought this was a counting crows article. oh well.
i've spent all day trying to think of a yoko ono joke. nothin'.
super bummed that grizzly bear, et al, are so low on this list! disappointing! #igetmyselfworthfromyearendlists
yeah, but has that scott walker even come out yet? will it be included in next year's list too?
how many times a day would you say you are telling people this?
can we get a premature evaluation already?
i'm still mystified...how is LDR trending down but still in first? do the thumbs mean anything at all? after two straight weeks with downward trends, so does this mean that two weeks ago she was ranked -1? please help.
ok. but how can somebody be trending down (LDR) and still be in the top spot?
thumbs down: this feature.
tom, where exactly are you sitting?
heartbroken? really? you do realize that this is just a meaningless list, right?
how has this not already happened, like, a million times?
srsly. i've commented this before, but i (we?) would love reviews of these live shows. i mean, i enjoy photos as much as the next dude, but some insight on the performance, as well as a setlist, would be great. justsayin'.
is thom's gross hair a good enough reason to not watch these videos?
drive is my all time favorite REM track. that's what's missing.
HOLYHOLYSHITSHIT
that was exhausting.
i'm pretty sure that this isn't the most comment story on stereogum...
me neither. can anybody explain, because "a package containing the record on two clear vinyl LPs and 625 pieces of art work" doesn't sound anything like a newspaper.
does anybody remember when vanilla ice drove a motorcycle through a burning piece of plywood? or am i misremembering?
i'm having trouble downloading...
srsly. does brandon view this album differently than he originally did? if not, why is he reassessing it?
re: mbdtf-it's enjoyable pop music with an edge. it doesn't change my life and i prolly won't be listening to it in a year, but for now, it's nice. re: double take-don't you think you would get some more meaningful opinions if you had waited a bit longer before reassessing, and in turn, asking readers for their reassessment? i'm all for offering opinions, but i think it's more advantageous to wait a while before coming back to evaluate an album. i guess this whole exercise is just a product of where we are as internet critics. not only are we evaluating music before it is even released, but we are giving a second evaluation before it really has time to marinate.
don't get me wrong, i love lcd soundsystem. a favorite band of the last five years. however, i think pitchfork is off on them this time around. this is happening is enjoyable, but probably not the second best album of the year. however, the greater head-scratcher is the placement of the "i can change" (#3) and "all i want" (#12) on the singles list. really? REALLY? fine songs, but they do realize "dance yrself clean" and "home" came out this year, no?

didn't know he left.
i WISH kol would have made 2 albums and then disappeared.
how hard is it to provide some details about the show? setlist? new songs? i mean, i would appreciate the pictures if they were easier to flip through.
that's all you have to say about this show? no setlist? no report on new songs? i guess it's nice to know that people had their hands-in-the-air...
what exactly do the amazon editors edit?
i cannot seem to find the stream on the nytimes page...
isn't the last song called home?....
