this has been covered a lot. i think i once heard it covered by a tuvan throat singer on npr a few years ago. i don't think that makes it a lame thing to do. i suppose i view it more as a jazz standard for modern musicians. additionally, i do like the direction bss have taken here. while not completely destroying the original style, they added their own texture. nice.
wayne is acting like a bitch. sure the flaming lips are great, sure arcade fire are great. i don't know, it's annoying when musicians make vague asshole comments. does wayne also hate miles davis? even if arcade fire are dicks, there are so many musicians far better than win who are much bigger assholes.
jamie sounds excellent
miley sounded terrible. taylor sounded great.
my girlfriend suggested Footles. Way better.
carrie looks like she stole her shirt from mamma cass
it is difficult to disagree with the fact that ticketmaster completely sucks. thankfully there are some better options, such as ticketweb, in chicago that actually are used at some really great venues.
the pacing of the video and the semi-chinsy effects combined with the quirky, creative animation really well go with the song well. Great song. good video.
i'm so sick of mgmt. srsly. the album has like three songs that are really catchy initially but become rather annoying after a couple listens. maybe seeing them live (twice, at lolla and opening for beck) helped me realize that these guys bother me.
boy from school was not on made in the dark. it was on the warning from 2006.
frampton used a voice box, utilizing a speaker that he could put in his mouth. he could then shape his mouth so his guitar sounded like words. this is different. did anyone see the guy who did use a voice box in kanye's band on the glow in the dark tour? that guy was sick.
was no one else blown away by m. ward? that was the best show all weekend, in my opinion.
i recently re-bought this album, and i totally agree. loads better than the cheesy crap mentioned above, this album is gritty, textured and fun as hell.
i saw them live, mainly because i wanted to see yacht (who was, as usual, amazing). they weren't that sweet. i've never gotten the hype. the radiohead comment is laughable. the overuse of the word 'lexicon' is just funny. thanks for not being a cool dude, so i don't mind not liking your music.
seriously? laughter just made me shoot hi-c ecto cooler out my nose. thanks, rl. i never thought i'd see a comment like this on a site like this. wow.
kanye's show in chicago was pretty sick. i understand why he wouldn't want to perform something less impressive when he's put so much effort into this tour. i sincerely believe that he's a hard working artist and i respect him, even though he is a douche most of the time. i think his ridiculous blog post is actually legit.
