I'm nerding out for a second, be forewarned. Nolan said this film is about bringing everything 'full circle', which to me means Batman realizing that he'll never stop being Batman. Remember in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight he still seems to think he'll eventually be able to stop. If they did the back breaking, I think they would need Nightwing. I'm also pretty sure Anne will make a good Selina Kyle, no matter how cynical certain 87 year olds are about it. (They have these things called talkies now).
If I could give you a nickel for all the upvotes I wish I could give this, you'd have all the nickels. Also, for the record, I remember back in '06 some people wondering how Heath Ledger as the Joker could possibly be any good, and look how that turned out.
Another fun fact, not sure anyone noted this already, but the original "Red Dawn" was intended as a conservative response to the made for TV movie "The Day After". Also apparently the badguy in this one is China?
I wish I could blame him for Episode I, but a certain greedy asshole had to go and tamper with a good thing, AND choose a horrible actor.
The Simon Pegg thing would make sense, I've read somewhere that he and Martin are close friends. Also, this song seems like a bit of a "Death and All His Friends" rehash, but I still get that giddy Coldplay guilty pleasure out of it.
lala, just curious, how many 'serious songwriters' in reality have been rich kids from middle america? someone's background says nothing about their intention or legitimacy as a songwriter. And Sean is right. What does it matter if it portrays immigrants in the video or not? Is it not enough that the song is part of a compilation helping people affected by that oppressive, xenophobic law? How would using real immigrants in the video help the cause at all? It's very easy to see someone else's work and criticize it with little or no recognition toward what it is trying to accomplish.
Wait wait wait, back up a minute...when are the pancakes coming in the mail?
Let's get some Mr. Burns related quotes going...I've seen a couple but it's sorely missing. Burns, filling out medical paper work: Let's see, social, security number...naught naught naught, naught naught, naught naught naught...two. Damn Roosevelt! Cause of parents' death...got in my way. Smithers: Mr. Burns hasn't spoken to his mother in years. He never forgave her for having that affair with President Taft. Burns: Smithers, look! A bird has become petrified and lost its sense of direction Smithers: I think it's a rock, sir. Willie: I'll KILL that Mr. Burns! And...eh...WOUND that Mr. Smithers! May not be verbatim, but you get the point.
