oh god. I hope whoever is in charge of making movies never reads what you just wrote. If they made a Calvin & Hobbes movie... well, I'd have to find out where we keep all our chainsaws.
I know how one becomes a Juggalo (being subjected to chain-smoking while in the womb) but how does one become a Furry? Too many Disney movies at an impressionable age? An encounter with an overly eager goat at a petting zoo? Pet dog as babysitter?
I didn't get it either until Jim explained it! I wish the entire episode had been Halloween, not just the cold open. On the "Do Not Mock" board could anyone read what was written under Erin's name? She was good this episode. Having Pam turn the pages over so she couldn't read them, the koi fish "it did not suffer", and, Michael: "Erin, do we have any of those clips that hold paper together?" Erin: "Staples?"

I really wish there was a movie club for this weekend's wide release of Paranormal Activity. I don't want to ruin it by discussing details here, but it was good. However the original endings both sound way better than what Spielberg came up with. Did anyone else have a horrible audience who made noise throughout the movie and shrieked and laughed and talked? Why is that okay in horror movies? I don't go to your "Valentine's Day" screenings and discuss how stupid Julia Roberts motivations are or predict that Ashton Kutcher's gonna kiss Jessica Alba right before he does it. Fuck! precaution
Thanks! there are some really interesting origins. Mine sucks as I just used one I've used on other sites when plain old kathleen was unavailable. I chose it in haste cause the first time I commented I'm pretty sure was on a post about Ricky Gervais and Elmo and I was just so excited by it that I rushed into it.
Didn't spend enough time on the site this week to notice the comments about name origins. Can someone point me in the direction of that stuff? I'm curious. Hlebtastic had me LOLing with his/her comment. One last thing. I don't have a twitter. Are there a lot of twitterers (twitti?) here? Cause it's the only thing that makes me want to get an account. I'm seeing Paranormal Activity tonight and I'm so excited (that's just an example of the kind of comments I will make if I ever get a twitter).
Erin is now one of my favourite characters, top 3 probably. I love how eager to please she is. She needs more screen time, her and Kelly need to do more stuff.
Leslie Knope talking about how seeing the pit filled in gave her waves of pleasure. So good. I found last night to be good on all 4 shows (I've never seen Always Sunny... always sorry), but my favourite interaction was between Jack Donaghy & Devon Banks (Will Arnett). I desperately want Kiefer Sutherland to guest star and they can have a "talking like this" 3-way (and by "talking like this" I mean talking with deep gravelly voices).
I remember reading in some magazine their group was called the "Pussy Posse" which makes Cat Pack so close but so far. Also, did you see the way he moves after that baseball? He has the athletic prowess of a Garfield, rowr!
Just get the soundtrack. Thom Yorke > the gallows
It really surprised me how awesome she was for that character. Usually I hate it when animated movies get celebrities to do the voices when there are qualified voice actors who could do a better job but I thought every one of the actors they chose was excellent.
All the kids howled along? That's the sweetest thing! There's something in my eye now dammit.
Those owls made me so happy. That they used animatronic puppets without CG took me right back to those Jim Henson puppets from the 80s. Plus they didn't speak a recognizable language and the interrupting cow joke. Bob & Terry were one of the best parts of the movie. I expected them to be 2 other monsters and was looking forward to what they'd look like but the owl idea is so much better. That's exactly how a kid would interpret that situation. Again, the igloo scene. I teared up at seeing Max upset. Who hasn't had that experience as a kid when you're playing and then something goes horribly wrong. It wasn't a kid scrunching up his face pretending to cry, he was genuinely upset. Max Records was entirely believable as a real kid. And of course when they're on the beach and Carol starts howling. Loved it. I realize this isn't at all a critical look at the film, I just enjoy talking about those great scenes.
I loved Kristen Wiig's PGAD character on Weekend Update. I was expecting her to do a "When Harry Met Sally" type fake screaming orgasm, but the way she did it was priceless. I seem to have a Pavlovian response to Kristen Wiig as I just smile as soon as she's on screen.
I had to go to the early show which I knew I was going to regret. It was mostly parents with small children (one of the kids cried a lot), and a group of teenagers, so, not the best audience. The teenagers made too much noise and talked throughout, knowing no one was going to tell them to shut up. I did enjoy the movie though. It wasn't mind blowing, but it was good. Max Records is so great in this! I felt so bad for him in the igloo scene :(
Seriously, Paul Ekman/Tim Roth could solve this right-quick. Love it when they cut to politicos/celebrities who're lying liars.
and Canadian Thanksgiving. No time for internet family whilst hanging out with real family.
That was so good. Now we can all refer to that haircut as an "ornate headcrest". You've made your own inside joke, Dafs, which is all a 'gummer can hope for.
That stranger is my best friend. Which says something about where I'd be on that list.
The Amityville Horror (2005): Based on the "true" story. Labyrinth: Where everything seems possible and nothing is what it seems and most things are muppets. What's Eating Gilbert Grape: Arnie knows a secret. His big brother Gilbert is the greatest person on the planet. But Arnie's retarded so you can't take everything he says at face value.
Dawn Of The Dead: When there's no more room in hell the dead will walk the Earth. Very very slowly.
Poltergeist: They're here. In the TV.
is this c-span's open mic night?
I love that set! birdvcat1 Since when does being good at your job make rape excusable? (I'm not asking you, kiss the pan, just weighing in).
I sent this in ages ago. You've all probably seen it on your own, but it's one of my favourite videos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btV6M2xDe38
You're expanding your repertoire.

Hey dudes, thanks for up points! Made me tres happy. Marshmallows bring out the best in people. Can I use you guys as a reference in my next interview?
Atmosphere is so overlooked in modern horror. It's the anticipation that makes me uneasy. The Shining still scares me with those tracking shots as danny rides his trike down the long hallways... I need the camera to speed up when he turns a corner and disappears for a second. If the best 'scares' a movie has are the loud noises made by the orchestra, it fails so hard.
