I have been a fan since nearly the start and have never heard of anyone being actually offended by the name. More goofy than anything. I think Patterson might be reaching a bit.

Young fans need this... His releases over the last 15 years have been less than crucial.
Citing concerns with the Kaiser and his minions, Led Zeppelin has changed its name to Led Blimp.
Seeing him live last year I was constantly in awe of how he made one guitar sound like an army. Backing band is so good.
Can't wait for the album. I saw them twice and they fail to dissapoint on record as well. I wish there were more bands like them.
I was pumped when I saw this and told my GF. She asked, "Is he that 'whoooh oh' guy that rocks?!" Y U P ! !
You cannot go wrong with these last three as an intro.
Love DBT, love them. However, the last album is such a bummer. This song is a good remedy...
As a Canadian I apologize for this crap.
Great write up. I really enjoyed it. Man... I remember Spin ran a survey for its readers around this time with the question, "which musician do you think will die by the end of the year?" Elliot was on the list with Weiland etc. I remember being totally disgusted with the magazine and the press that covered his career post XO.
DBT with Hood, Cooley, and Isbell in the lineup was killer.
Hold Steady have a new live album out today on bandcamp as well https://holdsteady.bandcamp.com/?fbclid=IwAR2DxvPrZjMWIOf2TjvP-jDheITXAETdvY0WqiIXi2DTFkW7lyfZq9SpBaA
Piper era singles were so good. Beatles recording Sgt peppers across the hall. crazy times man
Comfortably Numb is the better song from the album but could not possibly have been a single without awful editing. Nice Write up
Can't wait. Looks like the original will be released too. If anyone is ever interested check out Glyn Johns first cut of the Get Back album. I wish they would have released that instead of the Let it Be Naked album.
People that want him to change his lyrics should read a novel by George Orwell sometime. Quit fighting the culture wars.
I checked out after Riot Act, but I think I will take this one for a spin.
Great write up. I love this record and saw them on the resulting tour in Vancouver. One of the best rock periods ever in my life.
While I don't think "Nashville Sound" was a level up (Southeastern is tough to better), I like this song and am looking forward to the album.
In my humble opinion Bandwagonesque has always been better than Nevermind.
The new songs sounded wonderful live last year. Looking forward to it.
Great interview and always interesting tunes coming from him. However, I find it kinda weird that he hates his label so much given they bought the anime film of his for over a mill. Maybe they took it out of an advance or royalties or something?!
Mick back with his rooster tail between his legs after his "awesome" solo career.
Great write up. I am looking forward to getting into it. However, the singles released so far have left me a bit cold. Saying this one is their weakest is not much of a negative though. TI's discography is incredible.
I am not cool enough to enjoy this...
These EPs have been nothing but limp disco tunes. Really ugly
Such a welcome return... the last one of their was a bit iffy but they make such good records that I am really looking forward to this.
Which one is this one again?
New Pornographer records without Dan are inessential.
PJ using beats... it only took them 30 years to discover them.
