That wasn't cut for time. It was cut for being fucking stupid.
To be honest, I hated Not the Actual Events when it came out. Last week I finally got around to listening to Add Violence and hated that too. Immediately after finishing EP2, I went back and listened to EP1 and LOVED IT. I wonder if I will love EP2 after listening to EP3.
I only ever liked Hybrid Theory and stopped listening to that years ago but damn is that Jay Z mashup album Collision Course an f'ing masterpiece. Guess I will bust that out later. RIP
As much as I don't like Noel Gallagher, I am going to mildly defend him on this one. He is not the most overrated songwriter in the whole history of pop music. That honor goes to Jimmy Buffet.
Detroit news station is claiming it was an apparent suicide. That bums me out even more. http://www.wxyz.com/news/region/detroit/ap-rocker-chris-cornell-from-soundgarden-has-died-at-age-52-in-detroit
If I remember correctly Mike D was one of the co-founders/original investors.
When I hear "World Tour", I expect more than 22 shows in 12 countries dragged on through 5 months. Guess I am just bitter they are not coming anywhere near me.
Those interview excerpts screamed "Hey you kids, get off my lawn."
In case anyone was having the same troubles as me, I figured out how to fix this if you are viewing this on an Android phone or tablet. In a separate browser tab, go to soundcloud.com. Once there, open the menu settings in Chrome. Place a checkmark next to Request desktop site. This should cause the site to refresh. Go back to the tab with this article in it and refresh it. It should work now.
Must be a mobile thing. I went directly to soundcloud and couldn't get it to work either. My work blocks the embedded link so i can listen to it here.
Has anyone tried this and got it to work? I tried yesterday a few hours after they posted the article and again when this one posted and get nothing.
Just got through the stream of the album. Even with the questionable sound quality of Pandora you can still tell this one hell of an album. I cannot believe it has been 17 years since Shape of Punk to Come.
The simplicity of Ben Folds solo songs is really starting to annoy me. The first solo album was pretty darn good, but it has been diminishing returns ever since. I never realized how much Robert and Darren brought to the table until he left them for a while.
The link in the story refers to another Stereogum article. This has happened more than once lately and it is getting annoying. Here is the link to the interview. http://consequenceofsound.net/2015/06/refuseds-david-sandstrom-and-dennis-lyxzen-the-changing-shape-of-punk/
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. He's very very wrong, but still.
When I think of what city is on the cutting edge of music, I think Pittsburgh.
"Someone was even yelling out in the crowd the other night, 'Play that Pink Floyd Beatles song!'" That someone was their tour manager. Most people going to see them now only want them to play Fantastic Planet in its entirety anyway.
I was perfectly happy with the photos and clips over the song so much so that I rewatched it this morning. Admittedly, I am not the biggest Foo Fighters fan, though I do enjoy them.
"Ben Folds is exactly the kind of guy you’d want to take home to your mom." Someone should ask his 4 ex wives if that rings true.
Can I get my 5 seconds back? Also, can I get a partial refund on my Verizon bill for using bandwidth for that garbage?
All I hear is terrible impression of another terrible band: Coldplay.
Fork and Knife should have been included as a contender. It was released as an official stand alone single. Plus, it is my favorite song by them.
After Bill Ward issued that statement, he suffered a 3rd heart attack...
A veritable "who's that?" of the music world.
No Foo Fighters? I am sort of shocked because I thought that was one his favorite modern bands. Didn't they have something like a week residency after he came back from his bypass?
Tell me about it. They haven't figure out how to cut out Jimmy Fallon's stupid face and voice yet. Cannot wait for that feature.
I must be getting old. That sounded like garbage.
RSD for sure. I read everything on the list and felt "meh" about it. Looks like mowing the lawn will be a better use of my Saturday morning than this garbage.
What is Wayne Coyne's definition of "approachable guys"? Someone you can drop a shit ton of acid with?
They're using the term "musician" lightly when they are talking about Skrillex, right?
You could have told me that was Dave Chappelle in middle school and I would have believed it.
Doc Brown has really let himself go...
Michael Stipe looks much healthier with a little meat on his bones. Well, at least on his face.
I read the headline as "Don Henley Found Dead" I am not relieved.
Good Lord, she looks like Janice from the Muppets.
Perry Farrell has looked pretty much the same for 20 years. Pat Smear on the other hand...
No Beasties in the top 20? No dice.
Yes, it was. Sorry someone had to die though for that brilliant comment.
