Kurt hated GnR cause he thought Axl was a misogynist prick with a God complex... Axl may have mellowed somewhat in the last 30 years but Kurt was mostly right at the time.
My guess is they googled "Andy Ngo" and this article popped up. None of these trolls (maybe the same person) mention Mumford anywhere.
One thing I'm not sure this troll is grasping, I can't say definitively, but I'd bet nearly all comments here are posted by people who would not consider themselves communists... so trying to insult us by calling us "commies" is pretty much the same as calling us "basketball hoops" or "space aliens" it's not ruining anyone's day. Now, if he were to call us serial procrastinators... that would cut deep.
I'm not convinced this isn't the same guy with multiple accounts.
Semi-related. I recently did a freelance job where I had to work in a group with someone who was a Huge MAGA guy, in a similar vein to said trolls. It was really frustrating cause he just kept spouting stupid asinine nonsense about any and every right-wing conspiracy talking point and I didn't want to engage him because even talking about politics at all given the setting was inappropriate but I also couldn't stand the semi-coherent ramblings. One thing that was painfully clear is that the guy wasn't really malicious (unlike trolls on message boards) he was desperate. To put it bluntly, From just his general behaviour (apart from the ranting) it was clear the guy was a simpleton. He was someone of low intelligence that felt like an outcast was probably teased when he was younger, shunned by women for inadvertently saying inappropriate things and so he gets drawn to this right wing crazy rabbit hole and he eats it all up cause it makes him feel superior and important. One thing he kept saying over and over, "The Left is so mean!" The dissonance was staggering, and extremely depressing.
I realize this is a joke, but the sad reality is that kindness to someone going off the rails on a message board is only ever perceived by weakness, it just ends up encouraging them. The only two constructive options are ignoring them or passive mocking.
I'm surprised far-right troll invading the chat doesn't like InfoWars Fest? Bad concessions?
Like a computer passing the "Which images have bicycles" test, trolls do not respond well to direct questions.
The Skeptic Guy, Skeptic of obvious truths since the dawn of the Age of Stupidity.
The joke may be bad, but it is entirely Taylor Swift's fault that we all are thinking and talking about it right now.
The guitar smashing was pretty lame (particularly the pre-meditated aspect) but so is talking about it any longer than Saturday Night.
Beverly Hills is an interesting case in the world of Weezer to me. It's undeniably an ear worm and fun jam. Sure, it's shallow and pop rock junk food but it's far far better crafted then a lot of Weezer's worst efforts in the last 20 years. What makes people hate it so much is that it was conceived by the same guy who wrote "Tired of Sex" (and is one of the few songs in the world where the context actually makes it worse, IE Rivers isn't being the least bit ironic with the lyrics). If some nameless one hit wonder released Beverly Hills a lot of people who change the station when it comes on the radio would turn it up.
People dump on Weezer's Red Album pretty relentlessly and there is some truly uninspired dreck on it, but the bonus tracks that came out on it particularly "Pig" and "Miss Sweeney" are some of the best post Pinkerton songs they've ever released.
Seeing as how it is referenced in the title of the story, is the "Trigger Warning" for a abuse a little unnecessary?
Representation is important. So is making sure that a marginalized or oft. misunderstood group you are portraying has input and a voice in the creative process. What is so obnoxious is how many people across the board try to weaponize these tenants of inclusivity and good story-telling as a way to try and "hustle" for themselves.
Counterpoint: this is the first time ever that I've thought about the guitarist from the Deftones so... no such thing as bad press, I guess.
I'm Hills adjacent and frequently go running up there. It's pretty much entirely construction workers and douche rockets driving around in daddy's Ferrari. Very hate-able area.
Edit: The EC was not "created" by Madison, though this is the primary reason he and most southern politicians supported it.
So I assume this song gets right down to the history of it and describes the Electoral College as an antiquated political loophole created by James Madison to give lesser populated states an outsized say in presidential elections so that more presidents would be from southern states thus ensuring the slavery would not be abolished by northern abolitionists and it only still exists today because politicians from these smaller states enjoy their disproportionate control over the national government... no? They don't sing about any of that? Okay, no thanks.
