Wait. I guess she is nominated. That was weird.
Wait I'm confused. Where did those other artists come from? I thought they they only announced the first 5 and went straight to Song of the Year?
Like did a bunch of them vote for "Planet Her" by mistake, thinking it was the new HER album?
Wow. H.E.R. shut out from Album of the Year. What an upset!!
Because Cancel Culture doesn't actually exist.
You must be confused. Billie Eilish and Charli XCX are on the schedule. HER is nowhere to be found.
She was probably mentioning Rock Steady a lot more than her band's album from 1999.
Sorry to break it to you, but it's actually an Escape Club cover.
Gif also works on so many levels.
Shouldn't this article also be tagged under "Ye"?
Eh, I think we make that exception given the last 2 years.
I guess this is one of those rare instances where I first heard of a "Band to Watch" like 6 years ago.
I'm just hoping for at least one song that matches the energy of "Rolling in the Deep". I don't want another album full of slow ballads.
Ed Sheeran is British. The correct term would be "goddamn maths".
If you're a big artist like a Adele or Bruno Mars, putting out your album just after the deadline is often a smart move, because it means you have a year a bunch of your singles to gain traction and seep into the public consciousness. Then there's a better chance that the old folks on the Grammy voting committee would have heard your songs in passing.
"I’ve been seeing it on T-shirts ever since high school" You must have went to a much cooler high school than I did.
That shirt is way too fucking big.
She would have had to been making Heavy Music in the first place in order to qualify for that.
Just like how this site should probably nuke this review? https://www.stereogum.com/1412041/the-10-best-things-at-pitchfork-music-festival-2013/photo/ That festival must have been a complete shit show if R Kelly was the best thing at it.
And now he's voicing Bowser,
I'm glad someone got it.
I guess it's time we all agreed that BTS are great.
I still hear too much of co-writer and producer Josh Ramsay in this song due to it's shared similarities with Marianas Trench songs that were being released around this same time, like "Haven't Had Enough" and "Desperate Measures" for me to fully take it seriously.
Is Kanye West one of the producers or something?
"David Byrne's Look Into the Eyeball" Well this was the era of Windows XP.
I'm just impressed they beat Grimes to punch, though I suppose she's an artist, not a band.
I believe the Moldy Peaches were used because Page was a big fan.
The album I was most excited for to come out on this day was Ben Folds' Rockin the Suburbs. I'm curious if we'll get an article on that.
Nickelback's Silver Side Up and Slayer's God Hates Us All came out on the same day. Coincidence? Maybe.
I hope we at least get a Premature Evaluation of God Is Partying written by Michael Nelson.
Highly excited for that Long Beach Dub Allstars retrospective.
I feel like there's going to be a lot of 20th Anniversary articles in the next couple of weeks.
Knock knock it's Knuckles.
Yes Pitchfork reviewed Pageant Material. They gave it the classic "This is very good, but outside of our wheelhouse" score of 8.0.
