Thanks Gabe! You've brought quite a lot of people together, and made us all laugh and argue and be human beings sometimes together! We're gonna need a bigger internet, you guys.
Bri. Do not go and make me cry.
Right. I had to sing the theme song a bit to figure that out, but I'm back on track. Sorry. So much theatre nerding/Spiderman nerding going on over here. I'll websling myself out.
I totally see how him saying all this sounds completely crazy and stupid and silly. What a pompous, "hey look I'm an artist" thing to say. And I don't really know why he's sharing it in that way. Actor processes are usually weird and strange and personal and (as we can see) easy to deride and discount. BUT some actors do prefer movement/physical based approaches to their work, and paying attention to these details can help actors find a way in, find something for them to actively work on while they are rehearsing/performing. Just saying your lines sometimes isn't enough. It can be way more effective than "method" or psychological probing, because it's coming from external sources rather than dredging up inner angst from your deep dark soul. Whatever works. More power to you Andrew Garfield. This actually makes me more excited for the Spiderman reboot than before. Actually that's mostly because I didn't know Emma Stone was in it.
but the effect of the colours and the sound and the... it was pretty awesome, even if a little time-bending.
I will never experience love like that.
We also saw a resurgence of the "put cameras on various objects to obtain interesting shots" technique, which worked out pretty well, I thought. Watching True Blood and then Breaking Bad and even just seeing how VISUALLY more complex and interesting BB is, nevermind the story or writing, just the BASIC SKILLS OF THE MAKERS OF THE MEDIUM, it makes me feel very depressed that I spent that hour before Breaking Bad watching crap. Entertaining (ish? even really anymore?) crap, but crap. Like eating a hot pocket before cutting into a juicy steak. I washed it all down with some Louie, though. So, all in all, gastronomically, I did okay.
I love that they were like "no you can't come with us, it's dangerous" to go blow up the witches, when Sookie clearly saved everyone with her fairy blaster not 5 minutes before. Haven't we learned that Sookie unconsciously always saves the day? It broke the curse. IT IS CLEARLY STRONG AGAINST MARNIE. Whatever, this show. Keep magicking that chicken.
Did you hear what Katie Holmes said about reading the script for her new movie, Don’t Be Afraid Of the Dark? She said, quote: "I kept hearing noises in our house, and I would wake up at three in the morning and I’m like — Oh my God, I think somebody’s here." Katie reread the script 89 times hoping to find someone to share her terrified lonely existence with, but all the demons were too afraid of Tom Cruise.
I'm gonna watch me some more Torchwood. The Starz American season. Because it's super intense!
southernbitch, I'd like to buy you a drink. You are awesome.
Our hearts have been Deluminated.
I just like that he admitted he has a bias, but that it informs his COMEDY, not his POLITICAL AGENDA. That he has sway is a testament to the truths he exposes, NOT to his ability to convince the idle potheads he commands that his "political views" are better than Fox "News."
