Really, really hoped somehow this wouldn't happen after all. Thank you so much, Kelly. I think I wished your recaps into existence and I will cherish them forever. I'm sorry to repeat myself, but: Videogum has been my favorite site for years and, even now, I treasure so much about this place. Three of the smartest and funniest writers alive. The cleverest and sweetest group of bloggies (they're like groupies, don't worry about it) in existence. I will continue to keep a videogum tab open in my browser in your honor. I just can't keep it open to this page, because it'll be too sad.
nevermind, I found it! to anyone else lost: http://www.mobfd.biz/chat/
you guys, where is tinychat??? I thought there was a link on the homepage but now I don't know where to go and I would very much like to commiserate.
so much love.
Ugh, my day has been boring but okay so I have nothing to say, but I can't not participate in the last one! Ugh. I already spilled most of my feels about this horrible death, though I am glad that we are all making efforts to connect with each other in other ways. But... that doesn't make this okay. Not even remotely. Two old favorites (post + comments combined, very high ROI in the LOLK): http://www.videogum.com/163521/duh-aficionado-magazine-nicholas-sparks-is-a-jerk-and-an-idiot/duh-aficionado-magazine/ http://www.videogum.com/453002/quote-of-the-day-mark-wahlberg-would-have-stopped-911/top-stories/
"usual amount of blood in my pee" ????????
These trips down memory lane are amazing, but god do I not want this week to end.
oooh, that's great news!
since we're saying stuff: I've missed your comments.
Wow, this is heartbreaking. I don't remember what brought me here originally and I don't comment super often, but I just love it all so much. I'm just now watching season 4 of Breaking Bad and my favorite part (of BREAKING BAD, you guys) is reading Kelly's recaps and the comments, you know, from 2011 or whatever. I always have a videogum tab open in my browser. When I'm having a bad day I'll go re-read a Gossip Girl recap or WMOAT or Friendly Chat (or Friday Fight). Everyone here is funny and sweet, and how is that even possible? On the INTERNET? I remember a few years ago there was a commenter having a really bad time (like really bad), and everyone was just so thoughtful and supportive to her and she checked back in to say that she was pulling through. That, to me, encapsulates so much about this place. That + so much laughter. Thank you all so much. I hope we can work together to prevent the worst from happening, but if the next iteration of videogum doesn't include Kelly: dear Kelly, you deserve some kickass job and all of the accolades in the world. The same to everyone else who has made this site the amazing corner of the internet that it is.
Never thought of that but will start clicking all the ads frantically.
Anyone else think he should play Nic Cage in a biopic? OR... that Nic Cage should play Jamie Casino in the Jamie Casino biopic??
yeah, badideajeans pretty much covered it, but add to that Atlanta's already bad traffic problems and everyone fleeing to get home at the same time. I think people mostly slept in grocery stores because they couldn't get anywhere else -- the roads were more gridlocked than they were dangerous. Some people just stuck it out and stayed in traffic for 12 hours or more.
Georgia can NOT handle snow, you guys.
NIGHTMARES. Definitely grounds for offing someone.
are you kidding?! Not even a little bit sarcastic! That's a killer story! I'm glad the universe planted the lawyer next to you so you could think less about being terrified, and I'm even more glad that you shared the story with us. Guy Fieri has a lawyer??? (I mean, of course he does, but he has a lawyer whose big-name client is... Guy Fieri. It's almost a hilarious story right there! That guy has to conduct serious business with Guy Fieri!) Guy Fieri's birthday parties are 80's movie costume parties????? Just incredible.
Good call, maybe it is practicing for a movie audition!
