Wow. We are getting desperate for these types of articles if we are resorting to aesop rock albums. Does anyone REALLY want to sit through an Aesop Rock album all the way through? Or do you just listen to it because you think you are supposed to like it?
Blatant troll to leave "juicy" off. Also where the hell is gimme the loot and everyday struggle. In fact why the hell is life after death represented more than ready to die? I usually don't get too upset at stuff like this but this is a blatant troll and i'm PISSED. Or even worse, it's written by someone who never even listened to biggie until 2011. That's actually probably the case. The author has no clue or context about when he first came out with "ready to die." Maybe you could write the same article for nas and basically ignore illmatic. Or Wu tang and ignore 36 chambers? what a JOKE article.
I usually don't get too worked up about these lists but this one is terrible. He concentrated way too much on speakerboxx/the love below. The 2 most glaring omissions are "the art of storytellin" and "elevators." Come on man.
I wanted to reply to your long post but there was no "reply" button. But here goes: Why do you have to over analyze it? What's wrong with just making good catchy songs? This isn't about re-inventing the wheel and who cares if it has electronics and can't "rock their way out of a paper bag?" The songs are good. End of story.
Sheesh. I guess "Louder than Bombs" is my favorite release by Smiths but it isn't a proper release. So my favorite proper album is "The Queen Is Dead" but "Strangeways" is a very close second. It is so underrated. If it was by another band it would be legendary but since the Smiths are held to such high standards (and rightfully so because they are brilliant) this album gets lost in the shuffle. Which is a shame because it is awesome.
Sheesh. I made a list about a year ago on IMDB called "the most entertaining movies ever" which was based on re-watchability and not on pretentious film school reasons. Check it out if you want. Or don't, SEE IF I CARE!

Diving Bell and the Butterfly was great but it isn't something any normal person would want to watch multiple times. It is gut wrenching. How about watching something like "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" or "Dazed and Confused?" I've seen those hundreds of times and they remain fantastically entertaining.
