I'm rarely ever cold and I've lived 2 minutes from a beach my entire life; everything is amazing and nobody's happy.
It's not always great, but Florida doesn't suck, this lady is a drunken redneck bitch.
I agree with everything Gabe said but I still like this movie.
Also, everyone is probably going to think I'm really gross but (as a teenage girl) I always found Lester to be kind of sexy*. . . like hook up with your friend's dad fantasy.(anyone? just me?) Although. . I'm 21 now and haven't seen this in a few years and I'm not sure how old Angela is supposed to be so I guess it's probably creepy and real grown up people should obviously not let that fantasy ever be realized.
I do think Lester deserves some credit for not following through.. I don't think it was him not wanting to do it because she was a virgin, it was her revealing that she was a virgin that put her vulnerability and immaturity into perspective for him and reminded him that she was human and fragile and not a sexual object and that's why he didn't do it. Even though he was being a gross objectifying creep up until then, I think he got a reality check and was brought back down to earth, he is human and not completely awful (or he would've just done it, obviously.) Sure he was an idiot for getting himself to that point but he grew as a person by the end.
*I don't think ridiculous pot-smoking responsibility-shucking self-important man-babies are sexy I just have a thing for dads. Do I need a therapist?
They only way I could concede that this man has any considerable amount of talent is if he designed and created every piece of that set and all the costumes and did the makeup and effects, but even then. . .
why are you downvoted?, i completely agree and thought everyone else would too. I could handle it maybe once, like comic relief for a split second, but not as a character, even a small one.
But isn't it worse/patronizing to exempt them from a little ridicule? I would make fun of an extremely low budget American movie if it was just ridiculous. It's not "haha you can't afford fancy effects" it's "haha I'm not going to pretend this movie doesn't look ridiculous just because you can't afford fancy effects" I'm also going to go ahead and assume that this film does not embody their culture.
I thought it was obvious that he has a problem and everyone was just being insensitivegum today because he's a politician (sort of?) and that cancels out the mental problem part and he becomes fair game again?
