I didn't get a bitter vibe at all from his show (I saw him in Dallas). It was fun and hilarious and poignant. It didn't go on and on as long as this review states, IMO. He is having fun with a f---ed up situation.
I think Lost might be getting your hopes up (and mine). This is the second or third time they've said they were going to kill Kate this year.
Also, if Kate is still one of the candidates, will killing her cause some sort of issue?
How can anyone who saw Colbert EAT BUSH's LUNCH a few years ago think Leno would be good for this gig? Leno being a total tool aside.. he's just not funny.
They made Conan look like a failure, I guess is what I meant. Conan never had ratings approaching Jay's (well, until last week) and it was insane of them to think he'd be even close to Letterman for a while.
It's impressive I think because he ended up giving Conan TTS, watching it fail, now taking TTS back from Conan and guaranteeing he is back in that spot for pretty much as long as he wants. I have to think he would have been out soon either way (...because he's old). He just extended his shelf life a ton.
I love Louis and he makes a good point. I have been so excited for Conan to get The Tonight Show that I never even considered that it's an old, shitty thing (really, that Leno destroyed). I can't wait for him to get a show back where he can do what he wants.
You are correct. I think Leno was a little blind-sided by it, actually. He wasn't even close to ready to retire... but NBC wanted to keep O'Brien around so they promised him TTS. This whole situation is really sad.
The point is that Seinfeld got chance after chance after chance to stay on the air even with abysmal ratings and even with an awesome lead in. He might not be *wrong* but he wasn't canceled after 5 months like Conan is (more or less). NBC hasn't given Conan's show a chance to find its place like it did for Seinfeld, for YEARS.
It would (almost) (almost) work if she had gone through a hardship of some kind or just broken up with someone and was trying to get back out there. It fails even worse than normal fail when she just married a bajillionaire and has not a care in the world.
Of course this horrible show was the highest rated premiere in Comedy Central's history.

I disagree. The wedding party wouldn't do this to Pam and Jim because they knew they would hate it and that it would ruin their wedding day. Jim's brothers are asses, but the rest of the party would have shut down the whole idea. Remember how shocked the maid of honor was that Pam wasn't mad? Yeah. You don't prank someone's wedding ceremony.
I know this is probably a stupid question (since it is MP and people keep coming back from the dead so logic is not a staple) - how does Michael Mancini have a kid old enough to be sleeping with Zombie Sydney? The show has only been off the air 10 years and he didn't have a kid before.
(Sorry, I refuse to watch because it has Ashlee Simpson in it)
I love Louis and I LOVED Lucky Louie. We just watched them all again and that show kills me. Can't wait for the new show! Yay for the Videogum Louis C.K. Promise!!
Because the asses at HBO wanted to go a different way. The ratings got better every week, they just didn't care.
You are right, P&R is not good. Let's hope the 2nd season is better and is worthy of Louis's presence.
